Title: Fans Forum
Post by: The Million Pound Man on Sunday, April 30, 2023, 09:57:12
Any idea when this is going to be? I know it was promised in the last AB. Be great if a decent amount of notice is given so as many people who want to attend can make it.

Very important for our open and transparent ownership to face the fans directly.

I've heard it is being planned, no idea when yet.

Probably a Wednesday morning so not many can make it ;)

At the last AB was suggested it would be end may time, no formal date as yet though.

Thanks, presumably has to be before the PO finals to be classed as this season and avoid a fine ?

That's the fear! Shirk any real scrutiny

Club will announce it 3 weeks after it's happened and not a moment before

Where's the info chaps?

Been sent to OSC members as they have until this Wednesday to get a ticket, then open to general sale

As a season ticket holder aren't I now automatically a member or have I completely made that up?

EDIT - Yes, it is listed here in the benefits: https://www.swindontownfc.co.uk/news/2023/march/2324-season-ticket-pricing/

It appears nothing has happened 'automatically.' Why say you will do this if you won't? This club is such a shit show. Sad.

I've bought my ticket, therefore I'm a member, no?

Good Morning All,

We've been working on this one for a little while, but I'm pleased to now be able to share that we have agreed a date with the club for the second Fans Forum of the season. Here you'll have the chance to put your questions to the panel (to be announced).

The fans forum will be held on Wednesday 17th May in the Legends Lounge at SN1. Clem will be joining us virtually from Australia so the event will be starting at the later time of 8pm, with doors opening at 7:30pm.

It's free to attend, but you will need a ticket to be permitted with entry. As OSC members, you have priority to book your tickets before these are made generally available on Wednesday 3rd May 2023.

Tickets are limited, so secure yours here now - Swindon Town FC Fans Forum, hosted by STFC Official Supporters Club, TSTBL Tickets, Wed 17 May 2023 at 20:00 | Eventbrite

And for those of our fans living slightly further afield, fear not! The fans forum will be co-hosted between the Official Supporters Club and The Sir Tom Broadbent Lounge, so if you can't join us in person, you can listen in live and ask your questions by joining the @T_STBL twitter space.

If you've got any questions, please let me know.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Many thanks,

Hannah Clinch
Events Coordinator, STFC OSC

I’m assuming that a season ticket for next season isn’t active until next season, or until at least this one is finished

I'm just tired of season ticket holders being treated like second class citizens.

Why should someone who has spent tuppence on an OSC membership get access to the Fan's Forum before someone who has spent the fat end of £400?

Plus literally £1000s these days travelling away !

Hopefully enough tickets to go around to general public and the room isn't filled with an ultra pro regime crowd.

It's not an ultra pro regime you need to worry about - I doubt very many people even consider there is a side to pick in all honesty.  It's the mundane that makes these things a bit pointless.  They are not good "forums" to really get into an issue.  For every decent and probing question, there will be five - "why don't we sell pick and mix in the concourse?" type questions.  I am sure to that individual the question is something they've been sat on for years, but for the purpose of holding a management team of a business to account, they don't really do much.

Correct. It will be dominated by characters like Mr B. Ellend who had a whinge about Morris calling the fans 'punters' in the last Advisory Board Q&A...

I’m sure it’ll be submit questions in advance so they can vet them so will all be a bit pointless as they won’t want to allow it to get tense.

I see the Trust are rattling on about singing sections now so it’ll be focused on nonsense like that rather than anything overly critical of the club. Not sure what the actual difference is between the Trust and OSC now to be honest and as for the Broadbent Lounge lot they have somehow become an organisation in their own right and seem to think they are the self appointed voice of the fans. Them and the Trust are clearly being used by the club but both are clearly happy to go along with it in exchange for access to the club I guess.

Turns out that was the final straw.
