FBT for me followed by Brewitt and Clayton, RHM looked a handful except for his finishing.

Agreed, with good second halves from Williams and Jephcott

FBT, RHM, Khan and Williams I thought stood out for me. Fair play to the team for carrying the absolutely hopeless Kadji for 55 minutes or so.

FBT. Definitely a future permanent Town Captain. All about the application.

Many pluses to take from that.

Nice to hear from Ed Brand as well

Other than Kadji I’d say 10 players scored 7/10 or more, and if that happens you’re going to win.

Jonny, Brewitt, Clayton and FBT the stand outs. Wakeling and RHM never stopped running either.

Williams.
Great all round display.
Not far off his best game for us.

Thought Jephcott played well, better than Austin has been recently but FBT for mom with a captain's performance.

jephcott played well.

But I thought Hutton also had his best game for ages and took my vote. Seems I'm in the minority.

The back line also take a lot of credit

Its a bit unfair as FBT is just a class above the rest.

Good games from:
- Williams was energetic, especially in the second half
- Brewitt did well against tough (and taller) opposition
- Clayton was steady
- Jephcott had a good game but should have scored one in each half.
- Hutton marauded forward but defending was poor. (Watch the highlights and see his response to Brewitt telling him off)

The only ones that weren't on their game were:
Kadji - OK first half but a total liability in the second
Khan - Played better in the second half when Kadji subbed

For me,his work rate was a major factor in our improvement. Good to have a striker that ran his bollocks off

Kadji rightly identified as a meaningfully weak link this season but there were parts of the first half where I also thought he did "OK".

Unfair on FBT, but my vote went to Zinedine Williams.  His non-stop (very positive) involvement last night was reminiscent of ZZ and he crowned it with a thumping header.

Great heart from all.

You could see Brewitt's surprise and then anger that he had an unmarked man coming in behind him when he'd largely done his job in that play with his man. Glad we have someone out there dishing out bollockings to be honest.

Williams wins far more headers all over the pitch than he has any right to as a shortarse.

Probably the first time this season that there were potential mom’s all over the pitch. Just shows what we could have been like……

yeah, his timing to win headers is very good. His goal last night was actually brilliant. His timed run was absolutely perfect and brave to power the header past Lewis.

Agreed and contrasted by Austin trotting about when he replaced him.

Poor and disinterested cameo by Charlie wasn't it? If Morris moans about Adeloye's lack of effort then surely he can't let Austin get away with a performance that was effective as an old man mooching about a garden centre for 10 minutes.

I viewed it as Austin coming on to be a more defensively able old head.

He certainly wasn't a force in attack.

But I did read he was straight down the tunnel at the end and sidestepping fans on leaving. I'm not trying to start rumours, 2+2=5 far too easily, but maybe he's not fully happy?

It was a sensible substitution, but surely he can put more effort in for the final 10 than he did? I saw Cheltenham Clown Car Kostiuk mention that about Austin going down the tunnel at the end and so dismissed it out of hand. That's a shame if he did as at the final whistle there did seem to be proper celebration between the players for getting the lack of win monkey off the backs. Williams in particular seemed cock-a-hoop. (probably on a large goal bonus/double figure for the season goal bonus :) )
