Wasn’t it this season? All EFL clubs can have a maximum number of 8 loan players at the club at any time. Only 5 loan players can be named in a matchday squad of 18. Clubs can only loan a maximum of 2 players from each parent club over a season. Clubs can only loan out a maximum of 8 players per season. This will be lowered to 7 next season then 6 the season after.
