Title: Fixtures Season ‘22 - ‘23
Post by: Legends-Lounge on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, 07:01:28
Predictions challenge.

Guess which teams we will play on.

First Home Game
First Away Game
Last Home Game
Last Away Game
Boxing Day Game
New Years Day Game
Good Friday Game
Easter Monday Game
Champions
Relegated Bottom Club

1 point for each, no prizes, just a bit of fun. I’m not going to administer this in any way, we each can check back at the arse end for any ‘winners’ or during the season for progression purposes only.

Any entries have to be registered before the fixtures come out at 09.00 tomorrow.

Anyone game for a bit of guessology?

Not being picky, well, ok maybe I am but a few of you seem to not have grasped the ‘Bottom Relegated Club’ concept and named two teams. Interestingly those whom I have just alluded to didn’t put two clubs alongside ‘Champions’….. So be a good sport please and delete one of your two relegated bottom teams after all there are no extra points for it. Thanks.

Not that I am aware of. I reckon we'll be home to them on Boxing Day and away to them on the last game of the season. I should probably get bonus points if that was to occur! :) Although I have noticed I have done the same with Bradford, and that wasn't deliberate!!  :headhurts:

Harrogate Away 1st up

Scott Lindsey's men will end the season at home to Crawley Town on Saturday, May 6 after hosting Walsall on Boxing Day. Swindon will make a long trip east to take on Colchester United on New Year's Day.

Town's first home game will see Salford City travel to the County Ground on Saturday, August 6 while Leyton Orient arrive on August 16 for the first Tuesday night league game of the season.

Swindon's closest away trip - Newport County - comes on Saturday, February 4 while the home game is set to be played on September 10.

It really does. I'll probably be watching the same amount of games on Ifollow as you this season Aud! That said, my dad wants to go again this season so I might make a league game or 2 at the CG. My local game at Northampton is in December when I will possibly/probably be in Ireland, which is of very minor inconvenience.

I assume the lack of fixtures in November is World Cup orientated, plus April looks quite the slog!

Barrow away just before Christmas looks nice, at least its a summery trip to Carlisle, and with two games previously should at least have an idea how shit/good we are and whether its worth the trip.

Oh gosh I had erased that from my memory! I seem to remember one of our defenders making his debut being played out of position and having an absolute shocker, might have been Scott Cuthbert actually, could be wrong though! Crazy to think that's 13 years ago now!

Wasn't there some other symmetry on the opening day where Colchester beat Norwich 7-1 and Norwich maybe went on to win the league after appointing Colchester's manager? (not sure if Colchester got relegated or not)

I haven't checked any of this so could be utter bollocks.

Cumbria and Yorkshire in August is great for a summer break but surely not for playing football. :bye:

Yes to most of it.
The manager in question was Paul Lambert. Think Norwich went up again the following season.
Don’t think Colchester got relegated though.

Yes to most of it.
The manager in question was Paul Lambert. Think Norwich went up again the following season.
Don’t think Colchester got relegated though.

Colchester finished in eight place. Norwich went up that same season.

Gordon Greer scored that injury time equaliser against them in our home game.
I was in the Town End that day, the roof nearly blew off when he scored. ;D

Yeah I know Norwich went up that season but they also went up again the following season back to the Prem…

Ah ha. :sherlock:

So they did, don't even remember that happening, probably wallowing over our own relegation that season.
