Oh well. Another year in this feckin awful league. Think is my last MoM poll. Will post the season results once the dust settles.

Iandolo easily.

Baudry a close second. Surely he's got another season in him. So composed on the ball.

Iandolo, then Baudry. Defence all did well really.

Midfield sadly let us down. Louis Reed, brilliant all season probably had his two most anonymous games in the playoffs. McKirdy did nothing but without service. Davison worked his bollocks off and got beaten up by the defence, but doesn't have that extra bit of quality sadly.

Still, it's fine margins. Hope most of this squad is back next season - even today, if we'd had anything resembling reinforcements on the bench we could have got over the line.

Iandolo was the best player on the park for us.

Ward did everything you could expect of him. Dealt with some awful back passes from Conroy. Couple of good saves plus saving 2 pens.

Baudry was next best. Won so many headers, a couple of Cruyff moments and solid. May have played their scorer on side

Iandolo MotM but props to Ward, kept us in it a couple of times and 2 great penalty saves back to back kept us hoping.

As always with Town, it was false hope, but hope nevertheless...

Ellis Iandolo - comfortably, and despite  the missed pen.

Baudry for me. Pure class. Closely followed by Iandolo and Egbo

Iandolo and Payne for me. Class from start to finish despite Iandolo getting an absolute clattering. Ward did very well in the shootout and if JJW leaves he would be a very decent starting keeper in league 2. McKirdy was marked out of the game and missed the pen in the shootout but I think his reaction was his way of internalising it. If he had kicked off or got visibly upset then I think the Vale fans and players would have played on that. Did any of the players get attacked? I heard a lot of missiles went flying towards town fans.

Iandolo, gutted for him.

Iandolo easy. Donkey award goes to Davison, effort doesn’t disguise a complete lack of ability!

Egbo.

Iandolo for me. A fair few disappointments, but that’s irrelevant now

Full backs, Baudry, Ward, Williams all excellent. Went for Iandolo. Is he actually a decent full back now?

I plumped for Jack Payne in the end as he seemed to be the one that looked likely to make things happen. That said, I though Ellis despite a shaky start and Baudry and to a lesser extent Egbo were also good. Ward did what he had to do.

I suspect Ellis might be our club captain next season.

Or Baudry 🙂

Yes. Not only has he been superb but he seems to make Conroy a better player alongside him

Baudry easily for me, Iandolo started awful (they all did) and grew into the game but Baudry was excellent again. Payne had a good game from 35 mins in.

I think you can see from the improvements in Ellis, Baudry and Dion over the course of the season just how good a coach Garner is. Ellis and Baudry ended up being undroppable towards the end of the season, can you imagine after last season that being the case?

Ellis made the same number of league starts this season as in his six previous Town seasons combined.

He must hate Vale more than most, 2 visits ago he had his leg broke by one of their Neanderthal’s.

Ian. Penos don't count in a MoM vote. That's a pure coin flipping exercise.

Special mention to Ward (who incidentally was class in the coin flip) and Baudry. Call me mad but I think you entice him to do another year by giving him the armband for next season.
