I saw a stat this week that said that Haaland and Mbappe would need to score 48 and 47 goals per season respectively until they were 35 to equal Ronaldo's tally. Manchester United aren’t anywhere close to challenging for the league with their squad but Ronaldo is a big game player. So wouldn’t be surprised to see some form of a silverware won.

I mean it’s not going to be the old #7 get the ball and make things happen Ronaldo. It’ll be the #9 stay in the box score tap in and get all the glory Ronaldo but Manchester United have missed that type of player for a few years now.

If Man City don't get a top class forward in I think the league is wide open and any of four teams could win it.

I'm a football fan, Swindon come first obviously but I watch pretty much anything, there are all sorts of things wrong with the PL but ultimately the product is brilliant, adding CR7(7?) to it will add to the entertainment. 

I applaud him for not taking the easy option like Messi did, he's taken on a challenge, Messi will be able to breeze through the domestic league in France and may do well in the CL as domestically things should be very easy for PSG.  If Ronaldo adds to his trophy haul at MU it will likely have been very well earned.

I read that as resigned rather than re-signed and was left slightly puzzled.

I watched the last 15 minutes or so of the Portugal v Ireland game last night. (the wife is Irish so had a small interest) When I switched it on Ronaldo had gone down as if an Irish defender had caught him in the face. Seamus Coleman wasn't happy about it and said something to Ronaldo - I assume it was for him to stop milking it - Ronaldo threw his arms in the air and you could almost visually sense he wasn't going to take any of that shit.

After that, he was coming deep, starting attacks and needless to say he scored the equaliser with a solid header on 89 minutes and with literally the last action in the match, scored another header. I am no fan at all of him but on the pitch he is phenomenal.

I only saw his goals on the news this morning but the sacrifices he must make to keep his body in that shape at his age.

I think a lot of his drive was a determination to make his family proud of him. He looked up to his father but he was an alcoholic and died in 2005. I believe this was why Ronaldo never touched alcohol himself and why he strove to become as good as he has been.

Quite possibly they wouldn’t be proud of him getting a bit handsy in recent years (allegedly)

As for the transfer it will either go swimmingly or be a total shit show, I am not sure how Man Utd set up but he did barely anything resembling defending from the front at Juve, so if they can accommodate a simple no.9 who just finishes chances then should be fine, if their set up needs more who knows. Its going to be a dressing room of ego's that's going to take some managing if nowt else.

It's a shame that Mason Greenwood, who looks like he could be a future England star might now be behind in the pecking order to a 36 year old.
