Title: Worst case scenario
Post by: The Grim Reaper on Saturday, July 17, 2021, 11:34:06
In the unlikely event that the sale to Axis does not happen, I think we can all agree that would see us do a Bury. How would you get your football fix?

Watch Supermarine?
Another League club?
Become an armchair Sky Sports fan?
Or simply call time on football altogether as it just causes to much pain?

Probably Port FC (which is closeish to me), or Bangkok FC.

I keep on meaning to adopt a Thai club regardless, but it involves getting off my arse.

It'd be more of a lifestyle thing than anything - travelling around Thailand to away games would be a great craic. The club itself might grow on me in time.

I’d probably better support the phoenix club than I do the current version.

To me, starting from scratch is a bit like the play offs!
Plays off are undoubtedly the best way to get promoted but they are obviously a gamble. If you could guarantee me promotion via the play offs I would absolutely take it over a league win.
If you could guarantee me that a phoenix club would be set up on good foundations, have decent investment and would fly up the leagues creating great momentum - if bite your hand off for that over watching us struggle against the Colchesters, Walsalls and Exeter’s of this world who we’ve been playing against for the best part of the last 20 years.

Have, like most others, gone over a year without properly watching a game.
Hated watching games on TV, only did so because it was Town, if they didn’t exist would probably find something else to do on a Saturday

I'm not sure I'd bother doing anything football wise anymore. Plenty of other things to do really.

I would support a Phoenix club or give up on football and find other stuff to do. I might go and watch my local non league side - Petersfield Town

When I saw them at supermarine they were a bunch of scummers. They did enjoy singing about inbreds and roundabouts. There weren't that many but they were fuckwits.
Don't soil yourself with them tans. Hopefully academic anyway.

Worst case:

live in the USA, STFC fold, and Swindon supermarine do not ship kit to the USA right now

hang in there everyone, nothing we can do other than refuse to spend until the takeover happens.   My credit card is primed and ready.

Phoenix club might be fun if it was well-funded and organised. Not really considered other options but they might include Cheltenham Town (walking to home matches might be attractive) or turning to watch rugby at Gloucester.
