Hello all,

Just wanted to let you know that suttonred is awake and smiling at family but has had a really tough time. He's been in hospital since late last year (I think).

I know this because I was helping somebody sort out a Swindon Town related 'get well soon' present for a pal who is hospital and having read a few comments I've connected the dots and had this confirmed this morning.

I'm really sorry I didn't figure it out sooner.

Excellent news, I have been speaking to Ollie a bit lately he has been in contact with his wife and saying its not been in a good way for several months but this is great news, get much better soon Sutton.

Good to hear he is hopefully on the mend.  I spent a night with Sutton at the Sponsors dinner one night and he seemed a great bloke - would be nice to get the TEF together with Sutton in the Legends for a pint once all of this shit is over - if the legends still exists of course..

I met him once, probably 10-11 years ago, outside a pub in Wimbledon I think.

Herthab was getting in a cab and shouted out "See you later Sutton", so I plucked up the courage to ask "Are you SuttonRed from the Townend?" hoping the answer was going to be yes otherwise i'd look like a bit of a tit.

I'm on the London Reds watsapp and Ollie has been brilliant keeping us informed with his progress. At one stage it looked very bleak but Sutton has shown amazing fight to beat this and its absolutely brilliant news to hear that he is getting better. I'm sure he has quite a bit to go as his body is going to be a shell of what it was previously but the main thing is he is alive to tell the tale.

Apologies for lack of updates on here, his family were keen to downplay his condition. Kudos to the Swindon fans and ex-players who recorded get well messages. (I suspect Mr Pullen had a hand in this so very well done sir) When he is well enough I am sure Sutton will share it.

Give that man a laptop,  he must be bored shitless (Unless of course he is spying on us !!),  Get posting again Sutton,   we're missing your posts.

Spoke to his wife earlier, he’s still in hospital but laughing and joking with the nurses etc, will still be in for a while and is being moved to a specialist hospital

After 140 days he is off a ventilator, awake, talking, and being moved to a normal ward.. things are looking up

I look forward to seeing him in the TEF again. When he's ready, of course.

Cheers Ollie thats great news, lost too many people this last year, in this last week I lost a couple of old friends, a 48 year old to a stroke and a 56 year old who decided to take his own life. Sad time so celebrate everything positive and this is some very good news.

So fucking lazy he can't even be arsed to breathe himself for 4 months.

I don't know Sutton personally, but I glad to see that someone on the TEF who had been through a terribly rough time is hopefully seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Speedy recovery and look foward to seeing many more posts!
