Jack?

Sorry can't help. There maybe some on the REF that can offer their professional advice though  :)

I first read that as saying you wanted someone to draw up a will for your wife only and I thought it was rather suspicious...  :D ;)

Sorry cannot help, albeit it has reminded me once again that I and the missus should probably do likewise.

Alright ging. I got both mine and my wife's done last year. There's an initiative called will aid that normally runs in November where some solicitors do the wills for a donation to charity. It was £180 for mirror wills. I also think various charities have similar hook ups with solicitors. Prospect used to, bit sure who though.

Would only suggest any local solicitor with a good rep (not very helpful I know - mine was done by an old mate who is a solicitor who did our conveyancing as well, small family firm but not local), but I would recommend avoiding the "professional will writing services", have heard they can be a bit dodgy and actually end up costing you more than getting it done properly.

Are you a member of a union? Most have will writing services built in

This is how I got mine done for free a few years ago. All perfectly legit.

The best qualified professional  guidance may come from a solicitor who is a registered "TEP" or Trust and Estate Practitioner.  They are "specialists" in a way that Will writers are not truly.

They are likely to charge upper range fees, so it's horses for courses but it's a meaningful qualification.  Exceptionally, some Will writers will have the qualification.

PM'd you some details Ginginho. If you've straightforward circumstances, a will writer is perfectly fine. More complex, use a solicitor.

Ging, guide dogs for the blind are doing something around free wills this month for a donation.
