Leaving by mutual consent

I hope this is because he has another job, otherwise its a bit shitty for him really.

Almost certainly Hunt to Salford and then Tommy Wright to Assistant.

Surprised that Town didn't seek a couple of quid compensation if he is off to another club.

Wish him well.

Easy to say it doesn’t matter a great deal, but Sheridan and Wright don’t strike you as a particularly inspiring duo to go into work for each day. Not many laughs there.

When Sheriden took over Hunt was definitely kicked to oneside once Wright said that he was staying and who can blame him if he does end up at Salford

Shame about Hunt. I liked the way he talked about players.

I agree with giving a new manager a chance, but I really didn't much rate Sheridan's reading of the game last night. Sounded very old school, not much sophistication in the post-match analysis and not obviously into individual player psychology, areas where I think Wellens was quite progressive.

Every club needs the mix of good cop / bad cop, even if people alternate the roles. I hope this doesn't become another joyless, attritional regime like Flitcroft's.

It may well be because he’s been told it won’t be long before Power leaves and a new man comes in. Everything feels very temporary at the moment. No strategy, or long term planning - understandably in many respects due to C19. Just week to week and hope someone with some ability to fund a club comes along.

Not when Swindon appoint a man Wright has known since the early 1980s and has been assistant to him on three other occasions.

Sorry Grenouille Rouge, I appear to have tickled your toes over recent weeks. It seems now regardless of my responses you get a bit uptight. You haven't always been like this. Sorry my French dwelling haricot :)

RE: Post length on the contrary...there was and is more to be said. It was rather terse on the subject matter.

Absolutely. I know we had just lost last night but I mentioned it whilst he was speaking; Jaiyesimi seemed to be going through the motions in his post match interview.

It is just the way i heard it but no doubt i'll get accused of being some kind of linguistics specialist on here just for sharing that opinion.

Players often say they don't let "off-field issues" impact them on the pitch but it definitely does for some more than others.

Why should the length of my posts (whether short or long) really bother people that much? It's ridiculous and verges on a dictated form, for forum etiquette. I never tell anyone else they have written too much or too little (unless countering the disdain to my own post length).

I never said you were upset. Uptight but not upset.

Drinking?! I never suggested you had. It's entirely up to you how you wish to interpret it though, of course  :)

Non too happy about this. Losing NH makes me think that is not all well in the camp, not that I am anywhere being itk just a feeling from the recent radio interviews that a change of management has meant a change of ideas about how the game should be played.

I exchange texts occasionally with a former podcast guest and it's always been pretty clear, from what I've been told, that Noel Hunt was very popular with the players. The 'good cop'.

Hunt is based in Berkshire but since leaving Reading FC he's gone from Leeds to Ipswich to Southend to Portsmouth to Wigan to Waterford to Swindon so he clearly knows hotel life/time away from the family.

I'm no ITK but I imagine he gave it a try under Sheridan knowing that the Salford job was on the table/on its way and after a few weeks decided that it wasn't for him.

The fact that he was essentially demoted from Assistant to First Team coach (if technical area positioning is anything to go by) made this news feel inevitable.

As it's been mentioned previously, this just adds to the feeling that we are currently under a short-term management team due to Power's desire to bail.

I think starting our lump of a centre half upfront tells us that without the need for any analysis of radio interviews!

Met him a few times, decent open bloke and yes the players liked him.
Was treated as one of them by so many, where as Wellens was the boss. Real decent relationship.
Very concerning.

As it was Power who bought him and Wellens who bought Wright in - the assumption was Wright would follow Wellens and Hunt would stay here.

Obviously appointing Wrights best mate as Manager changed that.

I mean we all Hunt and Power have previous at Waterford but I wonder how pally they are? Is it possible Hunt knows Power won’t be owner much longer and that Hunt could soon be out of a job?

I’d say good luck to him but if he ends up at Salford I’d rather it went to shit, nothing against Hunt - just the other one...

Seems obvious that the immediate future looks bleak - not just at STFC but a lot of clubs. Salford is a no brainier when it comes to job security.

I said when Wellens left he could probably see what was coming over the hill regarding the ownership. In some ways that’s actually even worse. If he knows a change is a coming and he doesn’t fancy that the change might not be for the better.

There's all sorts of potential reasons.

Even just not knowing the new boss might be enough if there's an opportunity open, for example. Mildenhall has played for Grimsby so I suspect he has mates at his new club.

Or it might just be something as simple as him not getting on with Sheridan, but it does come at a time when there is a lot of other movements happening behind the scenes.

Broadley FC is basically a charitable foundation to raise money for blood cancer research. I think all the players are Grimsby Town legends, they announce new signings on a regular basis

Salford has seen a vast amount of regeneration hasn't it?

I've not been to Manchester since we played City in the FA Cup, where Maine Road was, was pretty rough and ready. Getting lost there didn't help! But I was young and naieve and so wasn't afraid, per se.

It has and it continues to do so, what is happening is that Manchester City centre is actually expanding northwards over the Irwell into Salford, possibly due to its proximity to Spinningfields and also that Mancunian Way makes expansion southwards awkward

when I first visited the regeneration area about 10 years ago when I started on the project it was all a bit no go, its now high value offices/apartments etc!
