Title: WC Day 4
Post by: Sir Pissalot on Sunday, June 15, 2014, 18:04:50
Caught the end of the Switzerland v Ecuador game.  That's the way to finish a game!  Great end to end stuff.

Heard it on the radio, sounded like a cracking end. Still no draws? Got to be worth backing, there has to be one soon.

Actually feeling a bit sorry for Robbie Savage on a panel with Terry Henry and Seedorf.

Not only does everyone know that they were so much better than him,  they are both also much more eloquent than him,  in both cases not in their first language!

Swiss winning goal was a bit special. Great tackle, great refereeing, great thinking to get straight back up, great cross field ball, great cross, great timing.

Don't feel sorry for him.  He's a twat.

On a general note, the BBC's 'studio teams' are so much better/professional than ITV's.  It's no contest.  That Chiles fellow is an embarrassment.

Honduras are a horrible, horrible football team and deserve a few broken legs.

I'm in the spectacularly rare position of supporting France.

It should, but the rules should change so that if someone (lets call them Wilson Palacios) deliberately stands on you five times you're thoroughly entitled to kick them lightly in the thigh. Or ideally harder, and in the face.

Palacios gets his just desserts!  :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

Little bit of natural justice there!

I have a natural contempt for the French, but Honduras are so fucking horrible that even I want France to win.

Savage is making a proper knob of himself now.  Stop trying so hard Robbie.

Cannavaro is the sole class act on itv. Though you can almost read his mind when he's sat there, arm folded, smiling. 'who the fuck is that English bloke kissing my arse and what kind of amateur operation is this?'.

Bloody hell is it that complicated or is Jonathan Pearce just a shit stirring fuck wit!

Hits post no goal, keeper knocks it in goal. Two different incidents!

Fair play to Jonathan Pierce for grabbing the wrong end of the stick and refusing to let go

That didn't work too well. Still not convinced it was over the line.

Ha ha, exactly. What a cock that bloke is. Clearly the goal line technology said it wasn't a goal when it hit the post - obviously. But then was a goal after the keeper palmed it in. Which was correct.

What the hell is he going on about? Definitely a goal.

Jonathan Pierce is a Slave Trader

I wish we'd get back to commentators just commenting on the match, rather than give us their view on the world. I couldn't give a monkeys about Jonathan Pearce's view on goal line technology, just describe the action (for those that need it) and concentrate on the game.

Should have got the Refbot to give a judgement and Sir Killalot to mete out punishment.

Exactly,  he also keeps banging on about the cost of the stadia and poverty etc. I am not saying I disagree with the sentiment but Jonathan you are paid to commentate not make political statements, if you don't like it don't take the BBC money to go out and commentate there!

Ha ha, now he thinks France have scored when it hit the side netting. Think the sun's gone to his head maybe. And he's still banging on about the second goal, massive talking point. No it's not, the keeper palmed it in, 2-0 end of.

It takes something for me to want Les Frogs to win but these Hondurans are a fucking disgrace.

Thought the days of hatchet men were supposed to be at an end

My favourite bit was when Pearce tried to cover his mistake by blaming the angle of his commentary position and Keown, who is sat next to him, did't back him up.   ;D

Talking of goal line technology, was at a kids football tournament today and saw one kid laying on the line saying "i'm the goal line technology".

Fuck you messi!

Pearce is getting absolutely slaughtered on Twitter. It's very funny.

So on to the Argies. Would love it if Messi lights up this World Cup.

For those that say Messi doesn't play well for his national side, he's got 19 goals in the last 19 games, not too bad.

Of course if he was English Roy would play him at right back to make room for Sterling and Sturridge. (JOKE!)

Lennon and Shearer sat next to eachother. Excellent seating plan gents. Hopefully Keane and Haaland next.

Looking forward to this game, the Argies have so much attacking talent that it isn't even possible to get them in a team.

Nice to see them mention the incident though.

Yeah but Messi's only scored the same number of World Cup goals as Gary Breen. :-)
