Title: Buying a car - Insurance CAT questions
Post by: 4D on Sunday, September 1, 2013, 19:09:49
Looking to get yet another car.

There are quite a few motors that are cheaper due to being Insurance CAT C or D. I've seen one that is CAT D stolen and recovered. It doesn't bother me but can this cause problems if I'm looking to insure it?  :sherlock:

Some won't insure a car which was an insurance write off.
Some will, but will want an inspection report e.g. from the RAC.

I think the problem will be if and when you need to claim - the insurance company are going to argue the car was worth very little as it was a write off previously.
