@BBCWiltshire: SPORT: @BBCWiltshire understands QPR and England forward Andy Johnson is a transfer target for #Swindon Town #stfc

Naming our transfer targets whilst still under an embargo probably won't help.

If he's up for it, this should be a good signing (if completed).

I have tried to remain positive and willing to give the new board the benefit of doubt but more bad news is going to really dent any goodwill they still have with the majority of the fan base. Lets just hope it is the fact they have found horse dna in the burgers and hotdogs

Why all the Bodin hate? Look back at some of the posts back when PDC was slagging him off and the support he got. Put yourself in his position whether or not you thought he was doing a good job Bodins reputation was publicly ripped to shreds by PDC. If it was you in your job and someone you worked for constantly slagged you off in public you'd be pretty pissed and look to your employer for intervention and, dare I said support. STFC gave neither and therefore as an employee with a contract and rights, just like all of us in a job, Bodin has the right to feel shafted by the club. He should also seek damages from PDC, but no doubt he will have taken legal advice.

It's only the adver understanding that this is why the deal has broken down anyway.

Hopefully we can still get Jason Roberts in.

It's that prick Chris Wise that needs to get a roasting. He was the knob who 'broke' the administration story that led to the fire sale of the club in public, FL paper story etc etc. BBC integrity my arse, nothing better that gutter journalism. Knob.

Mmmm first time i've seen this so will do some digging. Anyway, without doing that first there is no doubt whatsoever that Bodin was treated like shit by Di Canio. I put that info out on here during early last season and there was little symapathy then. Now there will be even less.

Guessing now, but i think that things behind the scenes are in tatters. Bodin rode it out despite Di Canio's shunning of him for 18 months+. Why kick up now he's gone?

The comment that really irked him was made after Di Canio left. The 'conference standard coach' remark to the BBC.

Then nothing to with the club if PDC had left.

He should sue Di Canio, but you get the feeling he doesn't have the stomach for that

The comment that really irked him was made after Di Canio left. The 'conference standard coach' remark to the BBC.

Surely, once PDC had left, the club can't be held responsible for what he says to the press.

Whether he is legally in the right or not the things that would suffer with any potential action would be the new board, the promotion push and the fans, none of whom were morally responsible for pdc's actions towards Bodin.

I sincerely hope he considers his options and decides it's not right to pursue. Couldn't deal with yet another set of good memories being tarnished right now.

That's ridiculous. Chris Wise was bang on the money, the reason we nearly had a firesale is because we nearly went bust. It did lead to bad publicity though, granted.

This time if BBC were asked to keep schtum then blame the sports editor for ignoring it.

Fair comment...can't see him going through with this anyway with his status at the club and amongst the fanbase.

Must have been bitter not to have been considered for the job in the first place and things then spiralled from there.

On another note, the embargo isn't going to be lifted in time, is it?

Paolo fucking whinged non stop about us being under an embargo, even though he was partly at fault, is planning to sue the club, however the people he has issues with are also no longer at the club, therefore keeping us under an embargo.

If we achieve promotion given everything that's gone on this season it will be nothing short of a miracle.

I'm immune. Club closure aside, nothing can/will surprise me.

It's a slow and deadening process of desensitisation.

Reminds me of gratuitously edited charity appeals on TV.

Feel I've now become so overexposed to slow-motion footage of poverty-stricken children reaching towards a camera while Coldplay plays in the background on TV I just flick indifferently through the channels until they've gone away tutting disapproval that they should ever have had the audacity to intrude upon my life and the unbroken stream of entertainment my short attention span demands.

Don Rogers could break as a new name trying to sue the club tomorrow and I'd struggle to muster an exclamation of outrage or surprise anymore.

Can I just remind everyone that we're 2nd in the league with 7 games to play and a great chance of securing back to back promotions.
For every off field issue we have, the chances of this happening diminishes. If we still had PDC, Ritchie and no embargo I would feel confident.

I would also like to add my agreement to the last four comments (not Langers' although I do agree with that as well).

A few people seem to have equated not getting any loan signings in with missing out on promotion like it's an indisputable fact. The players we currently have, have got us into second in the table with 7 games to go, which is not a lot of games.

Yes, of course I would have preferred it if the unmentionable had been lifted and we had got a few in (maybe we still will but I won't hold my breath). Not getting anyone in does not mean it has to be a doomsday scenario though.

As has been said, absolute fair play to the players and KM. Hopefully they will use this bollocks as motivation and will create a siege mentality to get through those 7 games undefeated. Come the fuck on Town...us against the World!

Absolutely. These players have shown plenty of times that they are more than capable of taking us up.

Even if we don't go up, I would still be feeling very confident for next season with KMAC in charge, espescially after he has a pre season with the team.

At least if it doesn't happen in the next 24 hours or so then people can have their initial tantrum and then we can all accept and get on with the rest of the season.

It's the hope of strengthening that has been frustrating. Andrew Johnson, Bradley Wright-Phillips, Danny Green, Marlon Pack and the Spurs academy have all been named. I don't think I'd be that bothered if I didn't know the calibre (at L1 level) of targets.

MacDonald has rallied the players well. Three really tough away games coming up after Oldham though... Good luck to all!

Clearly, that could be a problem, hence why it would have of course been preferable to get some signings in. So yes, we will need a little bit of luck in that respect. I think we could get away with the odd 'youth' thrown in here and there though. We do also have experience in reserve in the shape of De Vita, Devera and L Rooney. I also think you have a player, in Louis Thompson, who was given next to no chance by Di Canio, who can come in and do a more than adequate job so KM does have options. Two of the promotion campaigns that stand out in my mind are 89/90 under Ardiles and 09/10 under Wilson. In both seasons, the starting XI barely changed from week to week in the second half of the season so for me, you really don't want to be changing the team around right now any way. If changes are enforced, I think we just about have enough to squeak through, once again bearing in mind that it's now only seven games to go.

We'd been up for sale for nearly 18 months when the plug was finally threatend with being pulled, in fact we'd been almost sold once and were in due dillegence.  Try seeing if the owners of Crawley are happy to be funding their leaky bath in 2 years time - they've already turned some of the taps off, selling players after going several years spending like mad.

So might Crawley have been up for sale for that long.  Difference is that Fatty left Crawley and it was clear that their "project promotion" was no longer being repeated in the same way this season whereas our previous board level dysfunction certainly did have a "Championship Plan", attempted sale or not and the sudden mid-season halt has cost us

Either don't renew PDCs contract and sell Matt Ritchie for £800k in the summer and rein in the ambitions then

or see through "Championship Plan", giving promotion our best shot in a weak year for Lge 1 and sell Matt Ritchie in the summer for (at least) £800k to a club that would have furthered his career (second firesale running for poor Matt)

Totally agree. Pretty sure the last two performances and results are understandably putting people off "Wembley". It's not like the old one that's for sure but it's not that bad either. If we end up there it will inevitably be the pinnacle of the season like it or not. For that reason alone you have to go!

I think i'm the same, I really wouldn't want to be there, the place is horrible but I know I would end up there all the same.

Pssst, Don't tell SY, he's one of the shout you down brigade if he or his ilk do not agree with you or you disagree with him/them.

My real bone of contention is the cost of the day out. £170 for the JPT final all in, for two adults and a child, really? Even if we had won I would have questioned it's value.

I will be at my fourth away game at Sheffield Utd this season if anyone wants to question my commitment to STFC after the amount of money I have spent over the last 40 years then they can fuck themselves. I will be there long after many stop going.

Yeah maybe I'm lucky in as much as my job allows me to take advantage of the travelling that I do and my ability to arrange my diary to be able to be coincidently in Yeovil on the day of our game. I could have organised my day to be back at home that day and still have done my calls in and around Yeovil and watch the game at home like the Carling armchair viewers at most pubs. But no I fucking made the effort to be there. I will continue to be a prick and remind those who have pilloried me for my stance against the FA/FL not STFC. If the twats had not spent over£700m ..... Yes £700m on that soulless stadium then we the paying punters would not be fleeced to pay homage to our clubs for the privilege.

As I have said before, if you look at the amount of ppl who are online who don't post you get or at least I do the feeling that they do not because of the abuse that is thrown at other posters and do not wish to have that directed at them. I can't blame them really. If we want a diverse forum with a myriad of opinions we need to let others express their views un hindered.

I accept I go on sometimes but I'm not malicious and I only repeat to annoy those who have fucked me off. Ignore me or don't fuck me off, simples.

FWIW fatbasher, if you don't want to go the Wembley, that's fine by me. Not that you should give a shit what I think.

I don't like Wembley one little bit and any magic or appeal it may have had, disappeared a long time ago as far I'm concerned.

I didn't go to the JPT Final and was extremely glad that I didn't. Hopefully we will finish in the top two so I don't even have to think about going back there in a few weeks.

If it comes down to one game to decide if we are promoted or not, it doesn't matter where it is or how much it costs (within reason). I just can't imagine not going to the game.

So if it means going to Wembley, Scunthorpe or the local park pitch I want to be there.

I think the biggest reason I'd have for going to Wembley is to see us win something there.

The worst thing about us reaching Wembley will be that this forum will be full of people moaning about the daytrippers ruining the atmosphere and that they should all die. And I'd be a daytripper.

Same (although I was 3 for the playoff final, my memory is hazy to be honest). Charlton away in the second leg semi final a few years back was an incredible experience (we won a bloody penalty shoot out!) and Wembley would top that.

I'd much, much rather go up auto though please!

Remember Millwall away (well kind of) a few years back for the last day and previously we had something like 6 games left at the time but we all knew it would go down to the wire then and I think it's pretty much the same now. I had a massive buzz on the morning of the game and setting off at something ridiculous like 8.30am to go on the piss...fell up the stairs and just about saw our 1st goal, dreamland! I look forward to Scunthorpe...!

You'd rather there was no need for it. You don't want to go but feel you should.

The Play Off final against Millwall was one of the worst days of my life. I went back for the JPT final mostly because I didnt care about the result - hoping I might enjoy the day more. It was a fucking terrible day...

That's bad enough. For me it's the thieving FA. why do you think both FA cup semi finals are played at Wembley? They have cheapened that competition starting with allowing Man U to dip out for the world club cup or what ever to smooze up to FIFA to get the WC, which backfired on them not once but twice. I am surprised the FL do not have both semi's of the league cup at Wembley too.

I'll be back next season with my ST's in the DRS. I wonder where the other 22k will be on the day of our first home fixture?

I hope we don't need the play off's. Three points tomorrow and avoid a defeat on Monday will do nicely.

I'd guess about:

33% will be at the County Ground
33% will not be because they pick and choose their games for various reasons
33% will not be because they never are (i.e. don't support town and were dragged along by mates or live abroad)

HTH

I personally dislike the idea of having the semi finals atWembley, devalues the occasion of the final.

Should be at neutral ground of similar distance from each team.

I agree with you both on this one but I guess you can't blame them for wanting to use their new stadium more often given the massive overspend.

You don't want to go but feel you should.

This is it, its like an obligation you would feel you to have meet.

I told myself at the JPT i'd never go back after being surrounded by daytrippers calling players by their numbers as they didn't know their names.

It's bollocks though i'll be there like a shot, only difference is i wont be excited about it.
