Title: Tranmere Rovers FC v Swindon Town FC Official Matchday Thread
Post by: Shaw Rosso on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, 00:01:14
The opponent:  Tranmere Rovers

Well, I think I can now say that I know what a journo feels like when he comes up with what he/she believes to be a great story, only to see ones bonfire get well and truly pissed on by factors really beyond their control. So off we go again. I think I must have read a thousand opinions on the reasons for Di Canio’s departure, some of which I have agreed with and others that I find laughable, such as the real reason he left was because Arsenal are about to get rid of Wenger and Paolo got word he was in the running. Seriously, it was hard not to click on the reply button and let my already emotional thoughts (yep, I am a big girls blouse) become something of a tirade of abuse at this mis-guided individual. But thankfully I had the joy of offering counselling to my 7 year old boy instead. I feel for the little man, his first home game was Paolo’s 1st league game in charge, he has met him on 5 occasions, sat in his chair in the manager’s office, and this is on top of his playing hero, Matt Ritchie being sold to AFCB for a pittance. When I put him to bed earlier he said “its the worse day of his life”, my reply was something along the lines of “yes mate, I’m gutted too”, when really is what I wanted to say and should have said is “Welcome to the world of following Swindon Town Football Club”

I did have plenty of trivial stuff set up for this one, I’m off to the game myself and have been buzzing all weekend. It doesn’t feel the same now, silly really, as STFC will (hopefully) prosper long after Paolo has gone. Hope it won’t offend too many people but I really can’t be arsed with trivia, the facts are there as ever. But Birkenhead?  Its a shithole full of Tranmere Rovers fans (and quite a few Liverpool and Everton fans too I guess). All I care about now is come this time tomorrow I am on my way back from up north with 3 points in the bag and we have given TRFC a thoroughly good spanking and we once again can sing to those that will listen that we are Swindon and we are top of the league, even if we have no manager and no owners.

I love supporting Swindon Town, after my family there is nothing that I love more, but like any relationship, it can really fucking hurt when things go wrong.

What are they saying about us? –

“ Like I said.. deducted 10 points in weeks and be in administration. Couldn't happen to a nicer club!”

This is from Twitter, for those that fancy it his twitter address is @zzzoooman

Tranmere Last 6 –  WLWLLL (Tranmere are currently 5th in League 1 on 56 points)

The Threat – Experienced midfielder Andy Robinson has scored 10 goals so far this season, all of them being in league competition.

A Warm Welcome to – With no current links (that I could find) with STFC, a big shout must go out to midfielder Max Power who has made 18 appearances so far this season. I have had a dig even further and can’t find any link with Bill Power, NPower,  Austin Powers, or even I’ve Got the Power. We move on......

The irrelevant stats – Tranmere’s recent form has not been great, having lost the last 3 consecutive games. Some of us would have witnessed their rather poor performance against Shrewsbury on Friday night, and if the same Tranmere Rovers turn up then surely nothing less than a spanking will be on the cards. Rover’s home form has a 50% win ratio, 25% lost and 25% drawn, and if the league table was only based on home matches they would be exactly where they are in the current league table, 5th.

Head to Head – We have met on 63 occasions, having Won 26, Drawn 16, and lost on 21 occassions

The Odds – Selected Next Swindon Town Manager Odds –  Piccareta 5/2, Newell 4/1, Bodin 6/1, Hockaday 8/1, Adkins 8/1, Brown 12/1, Hughes 14/1, Hoddle 16/1

The Son Says – I love the way a kids mind works. When I asked him what the score will be he was quite convinced another 5-0 is on the cards, and he still is, so he is going with 5-0 to The Town. Such optimism (this prediction was made before tonight’s news)

The Prediction - Our away form is decent enough, they have lost the last 2 home games in succession and I think another defeat is on the cards. 2-0 Swindon with goals from Rooney and Ferry.  Di Canio to sit with the 540 Town fans in a crowd of 6’666

And Finally –   R.I.P Neville, undoubtedly will be missed by all those that knew him, and even those that didn’t. Says a lot for the guy really.

COYR COYR COYR

Good write up Shaw Rosso, had a chuckle at the Max Power part!

Not sure what to predict on this, but I seriously think the players will be bang up for this and I'm going to say 2-1 to us...goals could come from the mersey river for all I care, 3 points tomorrow, top of the league, no manager, no owners...it's been and going to be one hell of a ride between now and the end of the season!

Agree with you as well SR when you say 'I love supporting Swindon Town, after my family there is nothing that I love more, but like any relationship, it can really fucking hurt when things go wrong.'

It sure will be strange to be going back to having a 'normal' manager in charge.

Just hope it's not one of the rent-a-manager brigade (those of a Phil Brown ilk)

As for tonight, I can see nothing but a Town win and a serious ass-kicking for Twanmere

To be honest, and I'm surprised by this, I've awoken and a part of me is a relieved PdC has gone.

It's like that ill pet that's been labouring through life for too long, where it regularly feels great, but on occasion you're pained by not knowing when and if it will die and selfishly want it over with.

This is like that. The strain of not knowing is over. There's no more debate, the chips are down and we know where we stand.  Paolo showed his hand and revealed himself as a weaker man than many of us thought.

The shackles are off, and that dark cloud has gone. We'll batter them.

Where as to me it feels like I've had this great fantastic pet and now their gone.

I could get another pet, I could even get another ten pets. They still wouldn't ever be the first pet.

If we win tonight I think I will get the same feeling I got after Darby scored his penalty in the play offs against Charlton 'yeah this is great but I hope this isn't as good as it gets' sadly I can't help but think it will be, we'll go top tonight then throw it all away...

No - It is extremely important that FP has the right attitude and can get the players fired up. Equally though, the players have to show what they are made of as you say. I've said before, the likes of McCormack and Ward have a massive part to play tonight and for the rest of the season.

Chance for the players (and FP) to show what they're made of I suppose.

Obviously a lot of the squad have come to Swindon because of PdC, what better way to show their individual professional pride though than by going top of the league amidst this current clusterfuck off the pitch.

Sure those that are going will be in good voice, C.O.Y.R

Two words - cone gathering - the subject of countless 'humourous' comments on here over the years. But its importance should never be underestimated. I have it on good authority that FP has been hosting cone gathering camps on the shores of Lake Garda for years now and his techniques are light years ahead of our faithful old stalwarts such as Charlie Oatway, Paul Raynor and even....dare I say it....Mike Walsh :hmmm:

12-0 Swindon Victory. Williams scores six. Rooney two, Roberts Three, Collins one.

Fabrizio Picaretta takes over Scarf-holding duties in front of the away fans. We end up winning every last game, getting to the Championship, and then win the play-off final next season.

Picaretta ends up as Italy manager after three seasons in the Premiership with us.

I CAN DREAM!!!

Tranmere have loads of players out and are playing shit. Even a half-arsed performance should be enough to get something out of tonight.

I guess we'll find out what FP is made of this week. Hopefully the players don't pile on the pounds now PDC has gone!

Bob Paisley was never officially assistant at Liverpool he was physio then his job title was first team trainer, Steve Clarke still hasn't achieved fuck all, the only one in the list has been Mourinho.

...which makes it even more irritating that the signal disappears so quickly when you head east from Swindon over the Berkshire Downs.  I have been known (not often, but it has happened) to drive for 30 or 40 miles from here just to pick up match commentary.

In relation to Mike Newell, if he ends up manager after the idea was rubbished by Jed, he's going to look a complete cunt and nobody will believe a word he says again.  Certainly not the way to win round an already pissed off fanbase.

you overreacted as if we had actually employed the bloke. we haven't and there is fuck all evidence to suggest we will.

people keep jumping to their own conclusions based on vague nuggets of information, filling in the gaps with unfounded speculation and conjecture.

the response i've seen on here and Twitter - especially those tweeting Jed to say the appointment of Newell is stupid - makes me wonder what the fuck has happened to the world

edit: not having a pop at you in particularly DV, just becoming frustrated with this whole clusterfuck and the unnecesary overreactions from people.

probably not but i'm as frustrated as everyone else with the events at SN1 lately, i think moaning at/about other fans is what is getting me through it.

you overreacted as if we had actually employed the bloke. we haven't and there is fuck all evidence to suggest we will.

Not really, I just suggested Newell can fuck off because let's be honest he'd be no ones choice as manager because he's fucking crap.

At no point did I say or even imply I thought it was a done deal.

We have a great chance to stay there for a while and I'd personally like Piccarita to be given until the end of the season! Try and keep it as 'samely' as we can and see where we go! A couple of points: Fabrizio Piccareta and the other technical staff owe nothing to Swindon Town Football Club. They were Paolo's men, brought in to do a job, which they have done. They now leave. We move on.

Given the complete lack of on and off field management at the club presently, I sincerely hope that some of the senior players take it upon themselves to prepare properly for the game against Preston on Saturday, and put the reins on some of those younger players who may be tempted to have a doss for a couple of days.

I just can't be arsed to think like you do DV...we've had a fantastic result tonight against the odds, that doesn't have to be as good as it gets. You're forgetting how fantastic this squad of players is and how good the team spirit is.

A squad and team spirit built by the people who are now gone. I think that alone will have a huge effect on the team.

I am not too worried about Paul Bodin taking over in the short term as he has enough about him and the players should not need too much emphasis in keeping the run going, professional pride comes into it.

I am concerned longer term however as the likely names being bandied about as being in the frame do not fill me with great confidence, just hope I am wrong.

Still totally bemused by the total ineptitude of the happenings off the field, be it old board, new board or football league and the ongoing prevarications. Heaven only knows who or what the problems were/are but they are going on far, far too long.

All very good the coaching staff packing it in as well but can they be sure they are going to be gainfully employed in the near future?

Perhaps I will win the Euro Lottery tonight , a few million quid might help grease the wheels!

A surprise comes along every now and again. The names before Paolo was appointed weren't all that. Not suggesting that we have the cash for another Paolo, even if there was one. Just blind hope that being the right end of the table will bring a few surprises compared to having just been relegated.

It did me as well.  I understand they're pissed off with the old/new board, but fundamentally they're probably giving a huge sigh of relief they're gone.  The only losers in this are the supporters and players and for all the love they supposedly had for us, they don't appear to have given us much thought over the last week.

Why is losing a cone collector putting a dampner on going top?  Of all the things in recent weeks to give a shit over.  3-1, top, completely in our own hands, two teams in the top 7 in dodgyish form, one team on an 8 game winning streak which really has to end (hopefully) and Wilson in charge of a team in the automatic hunt. Get a Manager, get a new Board, do it all within a week or so and we should be well set.  Too far into the season to completely derail it now because training is more about ticking over, the hard work was done in the summer.  I reckon, to ensure he stays alive, DV should get the job.

Beeb Swindon commentary was ace tonight, but sometimes you just have to wonder...

Quote
Zoumana Bakayogo went close for Tranmere at one end, before Roberts' spectacular strike made it 2-0 to Swindon.

Daniels reacted first in the box after Swindon failed to clear a Max Power free-kick to give Tranmere hope.

But, with Fon Williams joining the attack as Rovers went in search of an equaliser, Daniels lifted the ball into an empty net from his own half.

And the 'as it stands' table still has Bournemouth top. Sigh.

To be fair I think Picaretta, Donatelli & Doardo have all done a good job pre-tonight and deserve a lot of the credit for what we've acheived so far. Fabrizio in particular was never heard from and very much took a back seat but I've no doubt his experience & abilities have rubbed off on the players. Maybe the BBC are taking into account our points deduction from the failed takover and susbequent administration, not to mention the illegal payments to the board members who didn't get the club, and the appointment of Steve McMahon as Manager for a 2nd time (which although not against any rules was clearly worthy of a points deduction in it's own right).

This. I'm still not convinced that tonight was really the test. As Picaretta said tonight's win, from the coaching staff's perspective, was for Paolo. The gameplan, tactics & possibly even selection were all worked on by PDC during the final days of his tenure. Coupled with the fact that Tranmere are going through a really poor spell it was the perfect time to play them. I'll be far more convinved if we manage to turn PNE over on Sat. They could have appointed Mike Newell and still come down here riding the crest of a wave after getting rid of Westley & turning Bornmuff over on Sat.

I liken this as an opportunity for someone to sort of do what Ardiles did after Macari.  Took a team that was well drilled and disciplined, added a pinch of class to the same team, and they flew.  Would have been worse for this to happen a game or two into the season, maybe even back in Nov.  If it had to happen this season, think now is ok provided the right next man is chosen.  The foundations are in place, the team is in form, not enough time to unravel the fitness and the defensive strength we have should remain due to good habits being in place.

Morshead believes that Godfrey is included within the departing staff. I'm more than sure Viscardi will be off too.

The new guy can have their own staff, which is good (in my opinion).

This is how I feel.  The rumours of a return that gathered momentum during the course of the day gave a glimmer of hope.  That's now gone and I'm genuinely worried about who will come in.  Also, how will the player's react now the whole lot have gone?  For all we know, they might have been thinking that he'd be back.

He has been mentioned on here.

Just got back in from a fantastic night on the Wirral. Apologies if this has already been said, but the spirit and courage of the players in light of what's gone before was unbelieveable - they were an absolute credit to themselves and our club. Particularly how much effort they put in to the last ten minutes when we were hanging on a bit. The way they celebrated with us at the end (I think / hope) showed how much the win meant to them.

Absolutely SPOT ON ............................................................... COLD NOT AGREE MORE..... If you are the new man to lead us to the promised land and you are reading this .............. LISTEN TO YOUR TEAM......... They have shown tonight that they REALLY REALLY REALLY want to go to that promised land ............... I loved you PAOLO but like a jilted boyfriend whose just discovered that your Girlfriend is taking your best mates COCK up her ARSE. GO DO ONE MATE. A Bit controversial I know. Thought you were made of sterner stuff. When the going gets tough. The Italians get Going........ ( Sorry but you were probably as it may be shown put in a ridiculous position in your own mind ) And unfortunately until you learn to control your emotions, which we all love to some extent ) I cannot see anyone taking you seriously as there manager. You changed my life in Difficult times and I will always remember and respect you for that. But to jump ship just now shows you have a serious backbone issue when things don't go your way. Good luck wherever you end up but when STFC pass you on the way. Remember I told yo so....... BAD LIFE CHOICE MY MAN ......

Ok, just got down from cloud 9 and had a read through. Here are my thoughts on the match...

First half we played some good stuff - the best football I've seen from us in a while, despite a poor surface. Storey was making runs into the channels, and winning corners, so it was a shame to see him depart. But we looked composed throughout. Collins was winning balls in attack, and we were restricting their chances to long range efforts. A free header in the box should have been buried but Wes remained untested. In attack, we had a few pot shots from the edge of the box which didn't trouble Fon Williams, plus a couple of near misses. Most notably, Collins should have done much better when a defensive cock up allowed him to work a near open goal. He put it wide. He was also denied by one or two good saves from the keeper. Half time, 0-0 and looking like another story of missed chances.

Second half, Tranmere looked a bit brighter without causing too many problems to start with. The defensive problems were still evident though - their left back being a huge liability. We fashioned one or two moves forward, before the ball was played through for Collins - the flag stayed down, the keeper rushed out, and the ball was caressed goalward to make it 1-0. It could have been two not long after, but Collins was adjudged offside in the build up.

We continued to play nice stuff, with the occasional frustrating long ball. And it became 2-0 when a ball up to Williams was cushion headed back to Roberts. Around 20 yards out, he let the ball come down before pinging it into the top corner on the half-volley. Beautiful. The inevitable onslaught came not much later, and Tranmere got their goal after some sustained pressure. From then on, it was end to end with chances for both sides, but the last 5 minutes deserve particular attention...

First of all, Tranmere brought on a 3-foot midget on the right wing, who ran McEveley ragged. Then they piled on the pressure, with corners and free kicks. Fon Williams went up for one, which was knocked clear, then hoofed downfield. Williams gave chase, pursuing the defender who sensibly(!) played the ball back to his keeper, only the keeper wasn't there. The ball rolled 40 yards, getting slower and slower, the defender wasn't going to make it, then the ball bounced back off the post.

Two minutes later, another Tranmere set piece and Fon Williams is off again. The ball comes in and is cleared as far as Roberts, who, well inside his own half, looks up, and pings one goalwards. The keeper chased back desperately, and almost clawed it away, but the back of the net rustled and all 11 of the Town players raced to the away end to celebrate. Superb!!

After the game, the players came over and took part in celebrations akin to those at Gillingham last year. A monumental achievement to climb to the summit of League One after recent events. McCormack high-fived each of the team, before shouting something unclear to the fans in a determined manner, pointing at himself and the team. There's no question, the boys still mean business. Bring on Saturday, and whatever may lie before.

Well that was as much fun as I've had at an away game for some time - though I don't get to that many - better side for first 65 mins comfortably.

Not seen a shot with as much power as Roberts first for a long, long time, plus the almost 40 yard own goal plus the Roberts lob that saw Wesley run the length of the pitch to join in the celebrations, while Ward and Flint were excellent at the back. It was getting tense at 2-1 but they kept winning headers throughout.

As has been said the players really seemed to want to do that for themselves - McCormack was pointing at chest and going nuts at the end - if they keep that drive within between now and May you can be hopeful.

But more than happy to forget about the ownership/manager saga for a few hours and savour this before the glow fades.

Just got back.  Adrenaline is still pumping so logical thoughts might have gone out the window, bearing that in mind......

I fucking love football.

Right now I don't give a shit about the takeover saga, being managerless, selling our best player, etc.  All that matters is what happens on the pitch.  Tonight was fucking super performance, the players battled from start to finish and never gave up.  You can see how close they are by the goal celebrations, every single outfield player joined in and for the 3rd Wes legged it upfield to be a part of it. All 16 players in a show of unity at the end.

I don't give a flying fuck right now if we appoint Newell, Hart, Malpas or Rix because these players are going up as fucking champions regardless. Any cunt doesn't get behind the new manager can do one because we have a real opportunity to achieve some history here.

Great night that won't be forgotten in a hurry

Really enjoyed that night of footy.

A really great all round performance,Wes made a cracking save to keep us in front,on another night we could have had eight.
Great atmosphere from the Town fans as we headed top....i did sing myself hoarse for Neville and i watched two older Tranmere fans clap us off the pitch at the end which was good to see.
Flint is looking a lot more assured and was brilliant for me.

Also a big up to SAS....i really enjoyed the day,and the driver had us home in less than three hours.

Proud of the players, great win under the circumstances.

IF the takeover gets completed soon (48hrs), I hope the new consortium employ a likeable old head to just keep the squad ticking over, as on evidence last night the squad are as motivated as ever to get promotion. Perhaps they're bored of PDC's outbursts and will welcome the chance to get some recognition for their efforts?

Lots of names being mentioned but I think the new man needs to be someone the players will know/respect as coming in mid-season means there is no time to settle/build a good rapport. For me that rules out the likes of Hockaday. If Owen Coyle fancied the drop down to League 1, and we could afford him, I think he'd be a good shout.

Loving reading the write ups of those who went, it's been inspiring. It's how I felt myself last night although I would probably multliply it by 10 if I'd actually been there. This is what football is all about - the players on the pitch playing with heart and passion and giving their all, bollocks to all the rubbish going on off it. Occasions like last night are why I love this Club.

I've said it before, we don't need a new manager from outside the Club at this point in the season. We have all the personnel we need to get us up.

Let's just do it.

Well last night was just out of this world! The team on the whole all performed brilliantly. First half we should of been well ahead with the chances we had. Storey was causing their defence all sorts of problems and we lost a bit of momentum when he went off injured. Second half we were definitely on top, created some brilliant chances and Collins finish for the first was a very tidy one. After this it became the Gary Roberts show, he really stepped up to the plate tonight and proved that there is a player hiding inside there. His first finish was un-fucking-believable, could tell as son as it left his boot there was only one place it was going. Then the inevitable Tranmere pressure enused, but thanks to Foderingham it was kept to just the 1 goal. Then thanks to Fon-Williams for allowing two of the best moments of the game, the comedic back pass to an open goal was comical and nearly gave us the third goal, Max Power then nearly put it into his own net when tracking the stray ball back, he couldn't even look at the Town fans in embarrassment. Then the third goal came and it was all over. The players were determined and their celebrations just showed it, Macca and Ferry were rallying on the fans and was definitely a sight to behold.

I've not read all of the reviews on here but here's mine. Fantastic performance last night from 13 men wearing the shirt of my team. Committed, technically excellent at times and showing a real desire to win for themselves and for the fans. The team spirit shown after each goal, particularly the way they all congratulated Gary Roberts, was great to see.

Di Canio has instilled a great sense of unity there and there's no reason why that won't carry on without him. My only slight concern is that we may see a player power thing a la Chelsea when a new man comes in.

Don't really want to single out players after that but, Roberts, Collins, Williams, Ferry, Miller, and de Vita were big players for us last night, everyone deserves praise after that though. I guess Alan Mac will be taking warm down training today after he signaled that this is his team at the end.

Alan McCormack's passion last night when he came over to the fans at half time was something I've never seen before.

He was shouting something like "It's about us, It's about us"

I was lucky enough to get a spot at the front for the celebs.

Amazing night, despite the circumstances. Performances, apart from Jay Mac (if I have to be finnickity) were absolutely top drawer.

Collins was possessed!!!

It didn't sound as though Jay Mac had a great game from the radio commentary. We always seem to be a bit more jittery when he's in the side.

I would prefer Thompson RB with Macca LB. That's the strongest option for me but Jay Mac is a no holds barred player and doesn't pull out of much!! Needs to pick up his speed a bit as well as their winger did him a few times but luckily for us his choice of pass/cross was woeful

Well, we are cheating Swindon aren't we? AKA Swindle Town. We deliberately cut off the electricity so the lights went out when we were 2-1 down in '93 and we only thumped them 5-0 at our place because we were cheating. It therfore stands to reason that we were only able to beat them last night because we had bribed the ref. Simples. 8)

Agree with nearly everything I've read on here.

Cracking game & an occasion I was proud to be a part of.  The game itself has been well documented, it had everything & the last 5 minutes were extraordinary, it seemed to take an age for the 4th official to put his board up.

Wes' save followed by "that goal", along with a cracking atmosphere will stay with me for a long time, but the players actions at the end of the game demonstrated a solidarity that gives me hope that regardless of the off field shambles, we can still win this league!

Long trip, but so glad I went!

Should also mention that Tranmere should have had a penalty at 2-1, for a push so big it could have been seen from space. Oh well :)

Very true though though we could have had one two....the ref looked at the linesman and that was that no penalty.....also the offside goal we scored looked ok to me.

Just read this on the Tranmere forum

'Swindon are top dogs, it won't last, all their backroom staff including the guy in charge last night have walked, they are in financial @#$%& land, what you saw last night was a group of players amongst the highest paid in league one, breaking all the rules, why has the Football league not ratified the new board, because the wage bill has to be cut, staff have all gone next it will be players or Admin.'

A lot of bullshit on there, quiet funny to read through

I find it amazing how we are singled out by basically every other club in the league and hated, yet not one of them even mention Boremuff on there despite the fact they are spending vastly more haha silly bastards

Jeez. We really need to go up to be at a level where the fans won't see us as financial bullies. How did we become the Leeds of L1?

We started winning games.  It really is that simple.

Interesting quote on the Boremuff forum about this game....

Quote
Swindon only won last night because they were playing Tranmere Rovers.
Rovers are on a losing streak and Swindon were lucky.

Interesting quote on the Boremuff forum about this game....

The truth is, It must of hurt them getting knocked off top spot after such a short while. Most Muff fans would of been expecting us to lose going up to Tranmere with all the off field uncertainty. Having played one more aswell must be really hurting them.  :smugfu:

Don't get the Tranmere disliking us.... but as someone else said who cares!
Other fans don't like us because on the pitch we have been successful - have to say that I am rapidly going off Boremuff.

I imagine it's to do with the debacle over our financial irregularities after we beat Sunderland in the Play Off final in 1990. We were demoted two divisions (which would've meant Tranmere were promoted to the 2nd division), but was changed to demotion one division meaning the Trannies didn't get promotion after all.

I thought it was the floodlights in '93. Probably both.

They definitely do hate us though. Some pikey twat shouted "what goes round comes round cheating Swindon cunt" (or words to that effect) at me as I was walking towards the ground before the last game of the relegation season a couple of years ago. I was genuinely bemused by that for ages  :D

That makes sense. We were the ones demoted...yet they were the ones that feel robbed.

And the fact that we beat them, twice.

Well, they made no effort to get the game on the other week, in the hope some of their injured players would be back (shame it didn't work  :D). I guess by their logic that also makes them cheats.

Quite right.  It is the duty of every football fan to take a dislike to other teams that are doing well.  Nobody ever hates a shit team (except Oxford, of course).

Just seen that Adam McGurk the Tranmere striker is now ruled out for between 4 to 6 weeks with a collapsed lung. Things really aren't going too well for them at the moment.

Not sure, he didn't play against us in the week as he has a ham string injury.
Edit:just read this: It happened over night, He suffered a Pneumothorax which is when air gets between the two linings in the Lung causing it to collapse.
