Title: A statue for the County Ground
Post by: 4D on Monday, April 4, 2011, 20:55:25
Seeing as statues outside grounds are in the news, Fulham have Michael Jackson and Oxford have a Pink Cow; who would you like to see outside the CG?

I want something meaningful to the town.

Perhaps a statue of the unknown teenage mum.

Or a giant cock representing Mark Lamaar.

A statue of the 1969 triumph .

Failing that a statue of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Bopper or Elvis or Alex Harvey.

If it's good enough for Fulham then, dammit, it's good enough for us.

Diana Dors, Melinda Messenger, Billie Piper, and our most loyal player

That would make a Trollope on each corner.

This is more like it.  My first thought was Phil Lynott.  This may be because I am listening to Live and Dangerous at the moment.

I've always found Trollope's name mildly amusing for that very reason.

I used to pass every day en route to college. I'm told it's on the wrong side of the road.

Also, Dave Dee of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich fame taught himself to play using Eddie's guitar while a policeman in the area.

I used to live in Rowden Road, just down from the lay-by where the plaque is.

In keeping with the trend for pop paedos I propose a tribute to Paul Gadd aka Gary Glitter.

£5 quid for the most inappropriate team goal celebration suggestion to welcome our new alien overlord.
