I have a good mate whos a Cardiff fan so for that reason alone I want them to win.

Despite the fact that a lot of their fans are utter wankers, Blackpool are a bit like Scunthorpe to me as a team....e.g. the are just a distant Norvern town who I have no connections with or dislike/like of.

I guess it depends whether you would prefer a day out at Blackpool or Cardiff next season ;)

(assuming we win next weekend of course)

Can you imagine that!?! For that alone it would be worth it.

If Blackpool went up and we, god forbid, don't... I imagine we'll get a tedious thread about how wrong our board were to dimiss Ian Holloway as a candidate when Mo Malpas left.

Blackpool for me. I have a slight dislike of Cardiff. I remember when they were small fry. Small crowds in the bottom tier of the football league. Then they suddenly became some imaginary big club with loads of fans. Half of them are arrogant and annoying. Would love to beat them next season. Blackpool is a fairy tale story. Would love them to win.

Truth. Their fans also changed from Loyalist to Nationalist at the same time.

They were massive fairweather fans, out for the big games.

Yep, remember the gloomy years of Cardiff City very well.

Our very own Steve White was a part of it but I doubt many of their "die hard" fans will remember this...

August 1996: 1st home game of the season vs. Northampton Town in the League Cup (1-0 win)

Attendance: 2,294

August 1996: 2nd home game of the season vs. Brighton in the League (1-0 win)

Attendance: 3,463

Clearly, they are a massive, massive club. Always have been and always will be.

I'll be watching, more often than not the playoff finals are some of the best games to watch. Prefer Blackpool to win as Cardiff are one of the many clubs that have spent money they can't afford chasing the PL and it shouldn't be rewarded. Plus Holloway is fucking ace, having him manage a PL team will be excellent entertainment.

Blackpool all the way for me;

 - Like Holloway a lot. Wanted him at Town before DW came on the radar. Holloway & Mourinho (not for his football) in the Prem next season might get me a bit more interested again.
 - Was very impressed, even pretty shocked, at how good Blackpool were at Forest in the 2nd leg.
 - Cardiff fans are filthy Welsh cunts who do not appreciate one bit being allowed to play in our league.

TANGERINES TANGERINES TANGERINES

Holloway & Mourinho (not for his football) in the Prem next season might get me a bit more interested again.

Those two going head to head in a war of words would be the best thing since sliced bread. Especially as it would most likely end with Holloway being outdone on an intellectual level and resorting to smacking Mourinho one instead.

Superb half - keep it up, 'Pool. What a fine side they appear to be - ball on the deck, good momentum, all comfortable on the ball in any area, good movement off the ball, accurate passing....    Cardiff? Cunts.

Also I heard on TalkSport that if they win today Blackpool are gonna build the last side of their ground before 2010/11 starts. Still won't be massive, but it'll be tidy.

Yes, the board mainly. He has indeed done wonders at Blackpool but I suspect it's more a case of right man, right time, right club. It was hardly nailed on he was always going to do that on the basis of his track record was it? I'm still dead chuffed we got Danny

The commentator said both clubs had sold all their tickets and the empty seats were corporate and the like.

I don't understand it though, as there were big empty blocks which could easily have been passed on to the clubs without any segregation issues. Surely they would have known they wouldn't be using them so why not do something with them?

Would be good if the Football League could name and shame them, especially if a big company or two are responsible.

There were empty seats in both ends but not many. It was mostly the corporate bits around the middle tier which were very sparsely populated, as wells as the bit behind the dugouts which was half-full at best.

It was an incredible game and the Blackpool fans around me were saying they couldn't take any more by half time! Blackpool seemed to tire a lot towards the end but their centre backs cleared everything that came their way. Good to see them go up.

Oh and Cardiff are a bunch of twats, running round on the tube singing about how much they hate England and it's full of shit. Get your own league then. Then maybe you might actually win something for a change?

Sky Sports News are going on and on about Blackpool's attendances, which is out of order.

Theyve earned their right to be in the top flight, and just like us they have overcome greater odds to do it and well done to them.

Its a sporting competition, not a money making competition.

I wonder if we or Millwall will do the decent thing and give the losers share of the money to the team that doesn't win, as discussed by Mr Fitton last week.

Apparently the final is worth around £400k to each team but there is an unwritten rule between the chairmen that said the winner shall give the whole share to the losing team because of the new £10mill payment for being part of the Championship next season.

There is a higher level of payments for next season for each division.

I think Mr Fitton mentioned that if we stay in this division we will get around £1mill in TV and sponsorship rights next season, compaired to around £400k now and if we go up then its £10mill compaired to around £2mill as it is now.

Although the L1 and L2 clubs don't like the new deal they felt obliged to accept it in the end,
because of the threat of Championship clubs breaking away.Pretty much a pistol being held
to the lower league clubs i'm afraid.
