Title: F1 GP
Post by: michael on Saturday, October 17, 2009, 17:06:27
Qualifying for the second from last grand prix has been stopped because the rain is too hard.

I think they should call the whole weekend off.

Jenson is champion :)

One of the kerb cameras is sub-merged in water.

Come on Bernie, let's just call this one off.

Yeah, call it off and try again tomorrow morning. This is farcical.

Batch, they have now said that qualifying won't begin until conditions have improved.

If the session does begin today it will be on a wet track and so make for a very interesting grid.

Jenson could very easily find himself in the teens if he takes it too easily.

They said earlier that those tyres lift 60 litres of water from the track per second. Precipitation fact fans.

Well I found it interesting anyway.

That's Vettel's slim chance of the championship over then, didn't get through Q1, neither did Hamilton.

Ha ha. Easy to wind up the other half by telling her Strictly is cancelled this week :)

Fair play Barichello,  could make for an intersting final race if he wins and Button doesnt get any points

I don't even think Button deserves to win the title. He's been awful for half the races now. Rubens has been fairly decent throughout to be fair. Still don't know how Button is 14 points ahead.

Button is 14 points ahead as early in the season he drove superbly in the best car. He has won more races than anyone else and under Bernies medal system would already be world champion.

Since then he has driven relatively poorly. But his rivals haven't done much better. I think Rubens will take it to the last race, and that's a lottery.  But I can't see Rubens winning in Brazil with that fuel load.

I think Button will win championships, weather it is this year or not i dont know

But i think after all his years in racing, Rubens deserves one world championship

I hope it goes down to the last race, the last point this season was exciting was when everyone worked out the Brawn team were not invincible, but since then it's been dire.

I agree, the last few races have been quite extraordinarily dull imo

Should be an exciting race today.

A good bet will be for Hamilton to get into the points.

Yeh, in the rain he is class

Apparently it is dry there today, and most of the cars at the back of the grid are there because they have "dry" set ups.

With the added benefit of KERs he could tear the mid field apart.

McLaren are certainly going for it. Light fuel load + KERS should get them through the field. I guess it depends if they get held up in a Trulli train or not.

edit: beaten to it by Michael.

I hope it is dry or better still showery. We might see some overtaking. I agree the last few GP have been snoooze fests.

Yeah 5pm race start.

Think it will be an interesting race anyway. There could be plenty of overtaking and with Hamilton. Vettel and Button all towards the back of the grid it could be very good. Button has to get a point at least assuming Rubens is going to win this race.

Great race. Enjoyed that. Hard luck for Rubens but he wouldn't have been able to stop Jenson from winning it even if hadn't have got puncture. Good drives from Vettel and Hamilton as well.

Race of the season i think. Button winning is fucking ace, but his drive was amazing. I'm pleased.

A Brit wins the championship by coming fifth at Interlagos. Now why do I have a sense of de ja vu?

A good race, good on Jenson

He definatley deserves it imo

He's led the world championship from the very first lap of the very first race.

Of course he bloody deserves it!

That's the way to win it. Drive the nuts off the car and make it happen. Excellent.

he's been a bit like tim henman....a brit tipped for great things but never quite getting there. Finaly he did it, well done to the lad, hasn't had the best cars to drive in so credit to him

Now that ex-Ferrari chief Jean Todt has been elected leader of the FIA, I think you can safely say the FIA now officially stands for Ferrari International Assistance !!

At least we don't have to guess Sports Personality of the Year now.
