I could see him getting on well with Allan Shearer.

After all, he really likes characters who are popular with the fans.

McMahon led takeover and I can see them 3rd tier in 3 seasons.

Every time I see John Aldridge in that video I think of Roland the Rat.

Plus, during the "our lads are from all over the place" segment it's good to see two men who are unable to "rap" while strutting.

Good times.

One banana, two banana, three banana, four
Four bananas make a bunch and so do many more.
Over hill and highway the banana buggies go
Comin' to bring you the Banana Split show
Makin' up a mess of fun, makin' up a mess of fun
Lots of fun for everyone

Tra la la, la la la la
Tra la la, la la la la

I'm no social class snob, anyone's fair game.

I reckon a posh bird would be quite fun, not a pretend one who was up her own backside, but one who was posh without trying. Sadly finding such a lady in Swindon would probably prove difficult.

On a different note.

The match in aid of Sir Bobby Robson's and his charity is under threat because "of the apathy surrounding Newcastle United."

Apparently they've failed to sell 1000 tickets so far. I'm going but it's sad really that they can't acknowledge a great servant to the North East and English football while he's still alive.

If they fail to honour this guy while he's still fighting on then I hope they "do a Sheffield Wednesday/Nottingham Forest/Leeds United".

They might be a big club, but they're not as good as any of those teams were. Though it's not a perfect example, it'd be more akin to a Swindon/Bradford/Wimbledon :)

Since their promotion with us in '93 they've experienced 10 or 11 seasons where they've played in European competitions - a little bit different to Swindon/Bradford/Wimbledon.

My point is that selling less than 1,000 tickets for this is beyond disappointing - are 50,000 regulars all on holiday? This game is essentially Robson's 'farewell' and it's a shame that they appear to be protesting about something that holds little relevance to the event.

not without decent strikers, both carol and ameobi are too similar players, andameobis also shit, but they are two tall physical players who can win headers, but they need another pacey striker to play alongside one of them. its like having two billy paynters up front, they need a simon cox to link up with.

The only mental thing about that is it taking so long for Ashley to make it official. After their good start to the season there was no way he was going to sell the club, as promotion back to the Premier League will add a massive amount to the value of the club. Even he isn't that big a twat.

appinting houghton is the cheap option, that said, he has done well soe far, hes not had it easy, not knowing what the deal with the club was, he got his head down and did what he was asked to do, he didnt moan, just got on with it,
think he will do just fine getting newcastle back up, but will be replaced next season, aslong as ashley is commited to the club and throws a bit of cash to bolster the squad in january, they shuold be ok.
