Twas a good performance, a little unlucky not to get all three point , Comminges managed to show his full repartoire in 2 mins, a brilliant run then 2 mins later he failed to do the simple job of booting it out and we were one nil down.  The second goal was well worked by us and Blair had a good game today IMHO, as did Paynter who worked hard and was full of energy throughout.  Zaboub looked up for it too, no real poor performances today form anyone from how I saw the match.  The lad who score there goals was total rubbish, how he scored two is beyond me!

But all hard work undone by sloppy defending. You're most vulnerable to concede after you've scored and we shown that.
Would have been happy with a point before the match, so can't complain. If we'd stayed awake for the min after our second we'd easily have taken all 3.

wish i'd gone, sounded like a cracking game - pics on the OS make the pitch look worse than the field behind my house though

After the monsoon last night the pitch was very mediocre, Comminges smashed one cross into teh crowd off his shin and it took a huge bobble before he crossed it.  It was cutting up pretty bad, and it's good the rain only came an hour or so again, otherwise it would have been a right swamp.

it's only spurs that they're playing, so he may well get a run out.

Walsall were much the better side in the first half, which was easily done because they werent playing anyone!!

Second half we came out and raised it a gear and the second half was pretty much all of us. We got the goal we deserved then took the lead straight after....then lost it again straight away!!

After that, it was end to end and both teams could have won it.

However, the first thing I noticed was the state of the Walsall pitch, its fucking awful...and whilst it isnt the only factor I think it played a huge part in our first half performance. It took us 45 minutes to get used to the pitch. The ball wouldnt roll, the ball bobbled everywhere and the pitch was cutting up a treat.

Any other pitch in league and Walsalls 1st goal wouldnt have happened!!!

It's fair to say today, that everyone played well. I thought we were the better team in the first and second half.
The only error, comminge giving the ball away for the first goal while waiting for it to go out.

I'm sure we had at least a thousand away fans. Was that really rob tuck being thrown out?

Ralphy - I find that 3 pints of real ale is the perfect aperatif to an afternoon at the football.  Any less than that, and you realise that we really aren't Brazil.  But any more, and there's a risk you'll not make it in to the ground and end up in an airport waiting lounge - after having been abducted by aliens.  Which is clearly what happened in your case.

And the pilot wouldn't take him so they let him sleep it off in the lounge!!  This has brightened my Sunday morning up no end.

I think we should get Ralphy tanked up before every away game and run a sweepstake on where/how far he can randomly end up. "Where's Ralphy?" - it could be a real hit.

When we scored both goals I smacked me knee on the seat infront and didn't realise the damage until I got home. My knee is kiloing me has swollen badly and has a great big cut across it that doesn't seem to want to heal 8)

we all did the same dachauer - McLovin ended up on his back in the row of seats in front, Lady cracked her knee on the chair in front and my leg was bleeding in 3 places. All good fun!  :D

My shin is similarly still scabbed up from when we scored at Bournemouth and the fella behind me bundled me forwards into the seat infront, right into the shin.  Worth the pain though.

What a quality game, if not in standard then in entertainment.

My main thoughts were Easton and Nicholas were absolutely outstanding and fully deserved their goals, Brezovan's kicking is laughably shit when you saw Ince's, Paynter will get a goal sooner rather than later, and Zaboub must have had a rocket or 12 up his jacksie because he was a million miles better than recently.

Concerns were JPM who offered nowt, Peacock who gives the ball away so bloody much and some pretty soft defending at times.

Really enjoyed it though, second half was nuts. I went absolutely nuts when Easty scored, thats what away days are all about. Oh the meat and potato pies were nuts as well  8)

Was back in town by about 6.15 as well so got royally mullered.

Axs were you travelling with Whits et al, cos if you were I think I might have been in the same carriage as you on the way from Bescot back to New Street?  That's if my assumption of you being quite ginger is correct.

What a cracking day that was.  Unfortunately, my fame is based on bad information, I asked to leave as they'd chucked a mate out who was trying to stop them chuck out red macca!  Hertha followed a few seconds later to get a drssing down by the Police but on reviewing the CCTV they let everyone go with an apology.  We all walked off to the pub for an in match pint.  Strange thing was, Macca managed to stay in after kicking it all off!

edit: Oh and sorry to anyone if I splashed you in the pub when I fell off my chair.
