Title: Trouble for T'Milliers Post by: larwood on Thursday, February 9, 2006, 12:25:11 Its not looking good for Rotherham :( .
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rotherham_utd/4696636.stm But if they go out of business, will four teams still go down  Title: Trouble for T'Milliers Post by: Piemonte on Thursday, February 9, 2006, 12:32:58 Its every team for themselves as far as I'm concered, so I hope half their playing staff have to leave :|

All results against them would be void so only the teams who got beat by them would really have anything to gain. And yes the use of the term "proper" is because I'd love to see the MK franchise blow up all over Winkleman's sickly smug face. Title: Trouble for T'Milliers Post by: McLovin on Thursday, February 9, 2006, 12:46:03 Blowing up over Winkleman's face? I'd love to, even though she's pregnant now.
Title: Trouble for T'Milliers Post by: Piemonte on Thursday, February 9, 2006, 12:46:19 Dont get me wrong I dont have anything against Rotherham and dont really want them to go bust.
Losing some of their better players would be convienient for us right now though. Surely Admin and all the pitfalls of it are a more likely outcome. Stories like this are sadly not a rarity at the moment, yet no one's gone bust yet.

To be honest I'd rather give it to the red army fund, or just to STFC in general, but its your cash and you can do what you want with it! I'd give money to them if it meant us keeping 6 points at the end of the season. Anyone know who they beat this season and how it could effect us? Not that I'm selfish or anything. Title: Trouble for T'Milliers Post by: DerbyRed on Thursday, February 9, 2006, 13:37:21 To balance it out whatever I gave to Rotherham I'd also donate to the RAF fund! :D
And to be honest I think they'll find someway to run until the end of the season so I think our 3 points (hopefully 6 come 5pm next Sat!) from them will be safe! Title: Trouble for T'Milliers Post by: el duque on Thursday, February 9, 2006, 13:45:11 Surely if they go out of business, then there will be only 3 teams relegated from our league?
I would have thought that the only way we stand to lose is in lost revenue, should they go bust before our game with them... Title: Trouble for T'Milliers Post by: el duque on Thursday, February 9, 2006, 13:46:21 Actually, just realised that as we have won, and maybe other relegation rivals have not won against them, it could be bad for us.
It'll all be academic anyway. Swindon will stay up whatever happens. Title: Trouble for T'Milliers Post by: land_of_bo on Thursday, February 9, 2006, 13:53:07 Teams they have beaten this year
Chesterfield, Blackpoo, Oldham, Pikeys, Bradistan, Donny Teams who have taken 3 points of them around us Tranmere, Wallsall (Twice!), Shitty, Yeovil and Port Vale Couldn't be arsed to note down the draws as well...Walsall wont want to lose those 6 points!! Title: Trouble for T'Milliers Post by: Bedford Red on Thursday, February 9, 2006, 20:44:49 I wouldn't want to see any club go out of business, I know how I would feel if it was Swindon and wouldn't wish it on anyone else.
Talking of Winkleman (the male version); he was on our BBC Local News tonight (Look East) at their new stadium, it looks pretty impressive, will hold about 28,000. The story was how many will be in there next season though probably watching Bury, Rochdale play there etc. He seemed to accept they will probably be relegated but was saying that once you have the inferstructure in place then the team will follow, we will see. |
