Probably along the lines of in current british society breasts are seen as a sexual thing, so breast feeding seems a bit dirty.
I'm not no expert psycolagist but it obviously helps bonding between mother and child. I bet there are hundreds of different arguments on how long you should breast feed for aswell. Saying that, it does seem odd an 8 year old breast feeding. as I mentioned earlier I'm not sure if it's becasue we see breasts as sexual objects or because it's actually a bit wrong.
