I'm trying to organise some kind of weekend piss up for my mates 22nd birthday. Would usually go out somewhere local (Oxford, Reading etc), but i fancy a change of scenery. Is there somewhere that someone can recommend for a top night out? Can be pretty much anywhere in the country, although preferably not somewhere right oooop north. If you know of any place, can you recommend any decent places to head to?

Kind of leaning towards London.....Cardiff maybe?

Not sure if its further than you want to travel but Nottingham is a good night out!

Was gonna go for a piss up there after the game on 25th but just found out I have Carling Cup final tickets so its straight back home after the Forest game now!!

Inverness has some top nights out, but it might be too far up north for you liking I would guess.

Bournemouth's a good shout, had a decent time a few years back. Didn't rate Brighton, but maybe i'm going to the wrong places.....

Some specific suggestions of venues (pubs, bars, clubs) would be ace guys 8)

Bournemouth is good, I hate to say this but so is Bristol

Nottingham is good, spent a stag weekend there (bizzarre choice I know) and was surprised how much and how varied the nightlife was there

Baths not too bad? got some really good bars and Loads of nice places to eat.

London is a good shout, Leicester Square has some good places.

What about somewhere like Newquay?

Nottn'm has is pretty rough I think, my mate and his brother who are locals got stabbed a few years back for no reason.  Birmingham is good, Brindley place and the arcadian are a bt more civilised than broad st.

Bournemouth Yes, Brizzle no. A definate no. I hate the place- too many chavs looking for trouble.

Bournemouth is ace, Brighton can be good, but always seems bloody freezing at this time of year! Bristol on Fridays = Ramshackle at the Academy - brilliant night out.

London is obviously a great place to go out, but it can be pricey.

The only decent night out ive had in London was when we found a bar doing drinks for a £1 and an Oxford fan to abuse all night.  8)

Mean Fiddler is good when they have a Frog night on, and i've heard good things about the Metro club on Tottenham Court Road, i think.

Bournemouth's starting to sound good. Name me some venues?
