I fucking hate John Motson with a passion and to team him up with Mark Lawrenson is just asking me to put Radio 5 on.

As for favourites, I'm not too sure. I quite like Tony Gubba because he always gets really excited and screams players names out if they have a shot on goal.

the worst by far is that twat jonathon pearce though he has got slightly better,who remembers when he comentated on channel 5 in its early days.fucking embarrasing.

I loathe Andy Gray.

He always goes on about how strikers shouldn't get offside so early but he complains like we all don't know this and that the FA should do something about forwards inability to stay onside.

Martin Tyler is my fav commentator.

I remember Pearce covering an England match on C5, it was against a lowly European team we were expected to destroy and when Sheringham scored he screamed "Ready Steady Teddy" it was embarressing.

Plus he's a Bristol City fan.

I have noticed that Ian Darke has started to commentate on the Sky 4pm games. He also does the Boxing commentary as well, to be honest I think he should have stuck to that!

 - Motty: States the obvious too much, routinely confuses players, talks shit, generally annoys me.
 - Gray: Always making excuses for Premiership players when the fuck up, when often the only excuse is thatthey were just shit.
 - Lawrenson: Can't be neutral, annoying voice, utter rubbish
 - Hadwin: Stop talking about haircuts, ffs!

Moore was rubbish when he was alive too, highly inaccurate and boring.

Motson: Goes on and on about absolute conincidences.. "did you know that the last time Frank Lampard visited the Doctor with a testicular complaint, Chelsea won 3-1... Is that an omen for today's match?"

Lawrenson: He's not a co-commentator. He rarely says anything and when he does it puts me on the verge of suicide... ESPECIALLY if it involves changes to the offside rule or the fact that players have to leave the field following an injury.

Le Saux: Don't get me started... Can't believe the BBC are grooming this muppet as a co-commentator / pundit. He's got the Charisma of a lamp-post and a football knowledge to match. Not to mention his fucking annoying voice.

Pearce: No description necessary.


What hurts me most is that this is the team that  the BBC roll out for their most important matches.
I like to see as much football on terestrial tv as possible (regardless of the fact I've got sky) because I hate sky domination of the sport but if this is the best the BBC has to offer I think I'd prefer to listen to Andy Gray

I quite like 5 live co-commentators esp Steve Claridge and Peter Schmeichal.

How can BBC 1 get it so wrong with Motty, Lawro et al and Radio 5 get great commentators, I suppose without a picture the commentators have to be better in order to keep the audience interested.

How has no mentioned the pure muppetry that is David Pleat?!?!

As for Ian Darke, he used to commentate on sky when they first started showing the footy.

Motty watches a different game. Yesterday when he said Carragher had been booked for dissent when it was blatantly Sisoko for diving etc winds me up.

I hated it when Trevor Francis was doing the Sky games, someone would do a 2 footed lunge and Francis would come out with some shit like "that was never a foul, shocking decision ref!". :shock:

Most hated commentator of all time for me is Stuart Mac.  Crying little mince pie, hated him ever since he once shouted 'YES!' at an opposition goal, making me think we'd scored :x
