The pitch was frozen solid.....it was unplayable at 10:30 this morning....

Thats stupid if you get the three points, if we had actually had a ref he would have called it off anyway....infact the ref from the game next door deemed our pitch unplayable.....

I think the majority of the pitch would have been ok after about 15 minutes but the goal mouths were terrible and wouldnt have softened up so easy.

Although it is laughable that one of your guys thinks its because we only had 8 players  :nuts:

the rules say, in the result that the ref doesnt show (he didn't) it is at the discretion of the home team whether the game goes ahead and we agreed that by half time the pitch wouldve been completely fine.

there was a perfectly good game going on, on the pitch next to ours.

because we all got out of friggin bed, went all the way to bassett, got changed and did a warm up. bit of a cunt having to just go home again.
especially after a good win yesterday we were all raring for it.
besides, it was no harder than the rock solid pitches you get at the start of the season.
plus the sun was on it so it wouldve been fine given a bit of time.

nah ballard's ash is one of the best pitches in our league i'd say.

Yeah ive played at Ballards Ash many a time, had alot of good wins there back in the day.

The game next to us got called off!! they were playing a friendly after the ref had called the game off.

By half time the pitch might have been fine, so what we would have done for the first 45? not tackled.

We didnt have a weakened squad at all, we had 13 players out there today....

no, actually, the ref for the other game (westside) said "the game can go ahead if all players agree to it" that my friend is a cold hard fact (apt choice of words im sure you'll agree)

but not all the westside players agreed. but surely this means the pitch was playable.
the BA groundsman said it was fine anyway.
the website says pitch unfit anyway so it looks like it'll be rearranged

to me honest, it didnt bother me that much I was going to fucking sub again anyway, so the pitch would have been fine by the time I got on....

The groundsman did say 'he thought it was fine' when we spoke to him but I dont think he'd been out on the pitch he didnt think it was even frozen!

As for the re-arragnement I heard your players already wanted revenge on us before todays happenings. I cant think why though really.....

We should have waited till half 11 and kicked off then I reckon if everyone was ok with that. Sun would have been on the ground for an extra hour, it would have softened up quicker....

What teams and divisions do you two girls play for?

i play saturdays (when town are away and i dont want to go) in the wiltshire county league
and sundays division 6, for blueprint

that freak plays for AFC royston in div 6 aswell obviously

Well we didnt have a ref to enforce the league rules, but I do believe at 10:30 that pitch wasnt playable.

To be fair, a few of our players were just an angry at not playing the fixture, I think both teams had players that wanted to play and players that didnt.

The problem was there was no one of guarnteeing how long it would take the pitch to soften up. The pitch we played on against Intermach was frozen last week but within 5 minutes  it was soft. We did a warm up ran around a bit, as I'm sure you did and the ground still wouldnt take a stud.

You wouldnt have skinned me because I would have been running up and down with a flag in my hand  :evil:

we shouldve just fucking played, was it that much of an issue, your pitch was shambolic earlier this year. grass about 5 metres long and we had to break ice on the goalmouth  :o , that little ref was such a cunt though, he probably didnt have the bottle to call it off

Blah, at the end of the day you either get given 3 points or will play us and get 3 points...so what does it matter. :cry:

One of the funniest thing I've seen.  So much so that I got it on ebay for £30 about a year ago!  the last episode where Sanchez sings his song and the black guy(can't remember his name) raps, is my personal highlight.  I sent him an email about 6 months ago to find out if there was to be any more shows, never heard back from him.  Must be working on a new book.....

Another reason i love that show, was that it introduced me to Noel Barret and Julian Fielding, aka The mighty Boosh.  FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!

Ive been waiting for them to release it on DVD for ages just to see what extras they have on it.
