Title: Al-bums anyone still buy em? Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, January 26, 2006, 20:41:02 Does anyone still bother with CD's?
I've been MP3'd up for years and haven't bothered but on the verge of buying a home entertainment thingy-ma-bob my collection of actual CD's is pitifully inadequate and rather amusing to the eye. Does anyone still bother then? Ohh and I need new speakers for my PC anyone suggest some thankyou please? Title: Al-bums anyone still buy em? Post by: blinkpip on Thursday, January 26, 2006, 20:45:26 I always buy CD's. I love them, the booklet and watching my collection grow.
I don't use a mp3, Ipod etc, headphones and stuff do my head in. I never really download any music, apart from stuff that isn't out yet. But then, I usually go out and buy the album. Title: Al-bums anyone still buy em? Post by: Simon Pieman on Thursday, January 26, 2006, 20:48:40 I used to buy albums because you do notice the difference on an expensive hi-fi. Since I've been at uni and don't have my expensive hi-fi I just download. Burnt loads into proper music cds but they don't sound as good on my hi-fi in swindon, so when i start working I guess I'll start buying cds again.

As long as you've got a stereo with an "aux" facility all you need is a splitter cable that goes fom your ipod to the left and right imputs on the stereo. costs about tree fiddy Title: Al-bums anyone still buy em? Post by: Bedford Red on Thursday, January 26, 2006, 21:01:18 I'm about 50/50 between buying and downloading.
If it's something I really like I will still go and buy it. Title: Al-bums anyone still buy em? Can't stand burnt CD's they drive me mad. I'm rather an unorginized messy sort of chap but CD's and DVD's have to be done properly or not at all. Burnt CD's I find just don't last with me and even with CD printed labels and photo paper laser printed jewel case inserts I still don't feel comfortable with em. :-- I may get one of those iPod docking stations with remote though that could work. I do feel like I should go and buy a few CD's to make the effort though. Title: Al-bums anyone still buy em? A mate sold off his bang & olufsen system (bloody expensive kit too) and replaced it with something you just pop the iPod into as his main music thing at home, he's happy as Larry with it. Don't know if you can sort you're own speakers etc.. but worth looking into maybe? Title: Al-bums anyone still buy em? I want to do something like this, one for the home and then one for the car. Just plug the ipod in to an amp and have my whole music collection with me all the time. No more CD racks. Currently I have cheap seperates at home and minidisc player in my car. I'm so 1990's Title: Al-bums anyone still buy em? Post by: mattboyslim on Friday, January 27, 2006, 13:16:30 I have a handful of copied CDs and about 20 mp3s that I needed as specific tracks for things. I don't really like all that stuff, prefer the CD owning experience, the booklet etc. I use amazon used mostly or cd wow if I'm online. But lots of my CDs I don't intend on buying I'll find them browsing the shelves which you can't really do online.
