Title: Striker Situation Post by: walrus on Saturday, January 21, 2006, 18:43:04 Today was an absolutely awesome performance, not without it's flaws, but for now a result like that will do! Peacock looked tremendous when he came on and really up for it. His goal was typical of what he did for the rest of the time he was on the pitch - gritty, stuck in, ready to get muddy as well as showing some very good touches.
Likewise, Cureton was ace today, although not as good at reading Fallon's flick-ons as Peacock, and obviously a lot less physical. His goal was well-taken although really should have had at least another. Fallon on the other hand was lazy, largely ineffective, but his goal was invaluable and much needed. Had we not won today, relegation would have been looming. Which two would you play? On today's showing I'd fancy Peacock and Curo, as I think Fallon needs a kick up the arse today. Title: Striker Situation Post by: DV on Saturday, January 21, 2006, 18:44:37 Hhmm difficult.
All 3 caused Bournemouth problems, Id probably stick with Fallon and Cureton (even though I dont want to) because Peacock probably isnt a 100% match fit plus he had a big impact from off the bench... Title: Striker Situation Post by: Johno on Saturday, January 21, 2006, 19:32:17 i agree with dv.

Although he can be lazy at times, he is always a threat if the ball goes into the box as proven today Title: Striker Situation Post by: Elsterap on Saturday, January 21, 2006, 20:30:09 Quote from: "reeves4england" I'd say its hard to drop Fallon though. Title: Striker Situation Post by: Cookie on Saturday, January 21, 2006, 20:31:30 Fallon was very lazy today but proved at least a couple of times why he should start against sarfend.
Bring the cock on mid way through the second half. Title: Striker Situation Post by: adje on Saturday, January 21, 2006, 21:09:56 All this"lazy"talk about Fallon,I dont buy.Against Gillingham he worked his bollocks off-every chance we created was down to him, although by no means asinine, he does plenty of donkey work.

If it wasnt for him putting it about(and of course his goals) we'd be fucked already :x Title: Striker Situation Post by: reeves4england on Saturday, January 21, 2006, 21:26:03 Quote from: "Yeovil Red" stop turning on fallon you wankers. He is brilliant at flick ons and chest downs, unlike all the others tried up front this season. This was a large part of the win today IMO, he was always a handful, as he always is.
Title: Striker Situation Post by: reeves4england on Saturday, January 21, 2006, 22:26:36 That's my general feeling. None of us really know how Peacock plays, and I think Fallon does not get enough credit for the work he does with his back to goal.
Not only does he get the flick ons but he often takes the ball down and lys it off for a midfielder and play can be built from there. I would just be worried that by removing Fallon we would lose that link play |
