Title: Driving Lessons
Post by: swindonbob on Tuesday, January 17, 2006, 17:33:41
Can anyone reccomend a cheap yet high quality driving instructor type person in Swindon? I see BSM are £22 an hour - hoping for a little bit cheaper than that.

I use Nythe driving school and the lessons are £19 an hour. Had about 20 lessons and nearly ready for the test.

A friend of mine uses BSM, he has had over 30 lessons and hasnt even done all the manouvres yet. To a certain extent it depends on the driver, I know...but it shouldnt take that long. Plus he had to have simulator lessons, which are a complete waste of time and money.

As soon as I'm 17 in march I'm taking lessons  :D  I'm rather scared because I will probably crash every single car I drive.

Nobody in my family wants to take me out on lessons  :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:   :(

Driving's ace. 24 quid a time it was for me, but my instructor was an ADI Level 4 (that's the top thingy apparantly) so they charge more.

Remember taking into account test fees (45 for practical and 21 for theory)

Jesus that's gone up since I passed my test, and I didn't have to do the theory then either. Mind you that was 1985! As for my lessons I know they were under a tenner but it was that long ago that I can't remember.

Have you thought about doing an intensive course Bob?

Probably about 400-500 quid which might well work out cheaper than lessons... anyone done one?

Bloody hell have some sense, if you dont have a driving licence id never employ a person.  two things you should do asap, learn to swim and get a licence.

I learned with lawn school of motoring Bob, total legend the instructor, and when I learned 2000-01 I paid £12 a lesson, it was cheap in comparison to the rest then, so I guess will still be cheap.

Started with a purple fiesta then bought a new red one after about 2 lessons.  Last time I saw him he had another fiesta that was gold.

I used Safeway just over 2 years ago.  Not too expensive, and pretty sharp in putting you in for your theory/test etc.

It was £19 a lesson but its better to have one 2 hour session a week as you learn loads more,
