Title: Bit of a quiet one on here
Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, January 10, 2006, 02:26:11
I expected some more posts  :o

Currently I'm debating when I should go to bed. Going to finish some work for a class first, then it's more essay stuff or bed. Bed is tempting, although the promise of more beer I found in the other fridge is equally so!

Was about to do the classic late night who's up post.

drink the beer.

I'm playing poker badly for some reason can't get into the right mind set. Normally I'd just stop playing but I'm bored.

Can't find a corkscrew to open my bottle of wine. Aproaching strongbow_level=0 aswell. Drastic action may be needed soon.

Hmmm I wonder if any similar items could be used instead of a cork screw?

Yeah I was thinking 2 prongs either side of the cork would work

I've been trying to get to sleep because I have to be up at 7 tomorrow. it's difficult though as I went to bed about 5am on average over Christmas so it doesn't feel right. Also my room is too hot, yep that's too hot, the heating was up really high so I've opened the window and turned the heating down but still don't need a duvet.

Probably be freezing in the morning though.

Turn the screw thing clockwise to reduce the heat on individual radiators. Helps me alot because I can't sleep in a hot room, whereas others prefer it

I'm here, just watched Supersize Me. Good film, i wasn't particularly shocked at his findings, but it still made me think

I'd pretty much agree with that analysis Village. Although I was impressed how it wasn't turned into too much of a 'gross out' film

I have 2 more beers, which inspired me to rip off the Bloc Party song 'Two More Years'

I'm singing 2 more beers as I write this :\/

Check underneath the cushions on the sofa - that's where ours usually are. I don't normally drink wine, but my housemates insisted they include that in my list of addictions. It's working as well  :|

I spose if you're really desperate you could try and push the cork down, although it could taint the wine. Not too bad if you're just trying to get drunk though.

drinking the last can of strongbow at the moment, making it last by smoking lots of cigarettes. Up on the poker which is a bonus aswell

Not a bad plan, it only cost be £3. Cork will probably add to the flavour. Not that after 8 cans of strongbow the taste of redwine will bother me much

:D  My thoughts exactly

I'm currently considering whether I should match Withnail (from Withnail & I) drink for drink on another evening

Withnail & I is possibly my favouritist film. Doesn't he drink lighter fuel at the start though? sommin similar anyway. Wouldn't do that, replace it with something safer like aftershave

They substituted it for vinegar in real life. I think strong dark rum is allowed instead.

Jesus it looks a bit daunting actually:

haha, I knew about the vineger thing.

Richard E Grant was also a T-Totaler so they made him get drunk so he'd understand the part.

Withnail was also going to kill himself at the end

Yeah that's what I love, they basically gave him shit loads of vodka or something. I also like the fact that Withnail was actually based on a real person :D

OK it's 4am now and I've finished listening to Queens Of The Stone Age and almost out of beer. I think my bed beckons, good night!

All alone I see...

Wine update!!
Having finished off my cider and deciding my best bet of bottle openage would be a multi-pronged aproach involving a screwdriver and a fork, I proceeded to the kitchen to collect the aforementioned piece of cutlery. On the way I spotted a rarely noticed cupboard lingering behind the door used for entrance to the kitchen. "Hmm," I thought, "didn't we throw lots of our stuff in there before we had a party a few weeks before christmas?" I answered my own question by having a look.

After a bit of a rummage I was close to giving up. I then spotted the advent calander my mother had sent me and which I'd put in the cupboard and forgotten about. "Ha, I'd forgotten about that" I thought. Upon taking a closer look I noticed a metalic gleam behind the chocolate christmas fun. "Is that a corkscrew?" I asked myself.

I grabbed at the object, my mind filled with a sense of coming success. I examined my new possession, suddenly wondering if this would be the start of a many new adventures into unseen worlds.

Fortunately it was just a corkscrew.

Should have just pushed the cork in to the bottle with a spoon and put the wine straight into a pint glass.

I passed out soon after getting into my wonderful wine. Think the effort exausted me. Think I'll leave it a few hours before I start drinking again.
