from a higher level. Iffy is closing in on a move and said he was surprised the club are letting him go.

Any idea who it could be?

Theo Walcott    they turned down £7million from Chelsea as they decided to help us out instead.

It's great when that happens.  Couple of games ago, I signed Andy Nicholas and Brian Howard about 6 months before they joined us.

Can't see it being Neil Mellor though.  Will probably be someone from the Championship.

is it known yet yet weather is a loan or permanent?

Loan Possibles:

Sylvain Ebanks-Blake Man Utd
Guiseppe Rossi - Man Utd
Quincy Owusu Abeyie - Arsenal
Arturo Lupoli - Arsenal
Nicklas Bendtner - Arsenal

surely gotta be a big name if Iffy says it was a long shot and was really suprised they wud let them go

I don't really mind if I've heard of them as long as they're good. In fact maybe better if they are unknown, less expectation then.

I cant see it being any of those apart from maybe Ebanks-Blake cos Wenger will use those players in the Carling Cup and Fergie will do the same with Rossi.

Adam Proudlock  (Ipswich   -  not sure if hes signed a contract with them)

Todorov  (Pompey - long shot,  but Pompey have bought 2 new strikers)

Pericard  (Pompey again,  i think he was on loan at Sheffield United)

Lee Barnard   Spurs

Todorov was out injured for a long time so may need games at a lower level to re-establish himself.

Title: Promising young striker
Post by: STFC_Chris on Sunday, January 8, 2006, 13:47:12
Todorov is 28, not really what I'd call young. Plus, he is an international striker who won the golden boot when Pompey went up...not what you would expect from a young, up and coming player.

Now Fowler is back Man City are looking to loan out BWP

Signing Chopra would be good I think, he did well at Barnsley and is highly rated at Newcastle.

Won't be Chopra - he seems to be on the bench for Newcastle fairly regularly at the mo.

It's going to be someone most people will never have heard of - otherwise a bigger team would surely sign them instead.

That would be the young Arsenal lad who came on against Doncaster.  If it was him that would be a good signing I think, he looked very sharp and a bit physical as well.  A better version of Keogh I thought.
