Title: Please do not accuse Iffy of being an Uncle Tom Post by: Big Ron on Thursday, December 29, 2005, 16:44:47 I have heard some suggestions from Swindon fans that Iffy is behaving like an uncle Tom because he welcomed me to the club. For those of you that don't know an Uncle Tom is a "negro man who has a willingly subserviant relationship with the white man in order to curry favour." I can assure everyone that this is not the case. I bumped into Iffy in the corridoor whilst he was clearing his desk and moving to the smaller office and we had a long and frank chat about the Marcel Desailly remarks and after I told him he agreed with me that my remarks were exaggerated in the media and that they were not meant to be taken literally.
As for my role at the club we agreed that I will not be involved in day to day team affairs but that Iffy will come to me for advice whenever I think he needs it. Please do not refer to Iffy as an uncle Tom.
