well, as always i have to mention blackwell. 3 wickets which were vital. Could have got man of the match.

anyway, good game, great finish and i think plunkett has hopefully got experience from this series as he could, could be decent.

good result - one of the hardest places in the world to play one day cricket. Oh and the fact that we are indifferent at best.

Well thats it now then, for a while at least.Good to finish with a win but its been disappointing tour to say the least.India early next year is going to be a real test but hopefully our four pronged attack will be back and the KOS will be fit again.

They'll have to reproduce the ashes heroics to win that series I feel, something which they could not do in Pakistan.

It's vital that they beat India to retain their position as the 2nd best side in the world.

Is anyone on this forum going to Oz next year for the ashes? We went last time around, had an unbelievable month over there, saw 2 tests, one in Melbourne, 1 in Sydney. Also stayed in north queensland and did the whole barrier reef, rainforest thing which was awesome.

We were going next year, but we have our first child due in April, which has meant we've had to rethink. I tried to persuade my better half that one of us could still go I.E me, funnily enough she wasn't too keen.

Can't understand it personally.

India I think wil overtake us in the next World Rankings which suggests the next tour will be the second hardest we could have, even more difficult than this one.  Hopefully an injury free side after a little rest will put up a better show.

I think we did okay considering how different the conditions are over there, and players have proved their worth, just not often enough.

Hopefully they will be able to learn from this and take some more experience into the India games

Lets try and be positive,we are still a good side :) . I think we need to give Pakistan some credit too though,they played very well both in the tests and the odis.Most teams would find playing them in their home conditions hard,the Pakistan - India series could be a belter,shame its not on Sky :(

I really dont find cricket interesting unless I am supporting either of the teams, so Pakistan vs India for me would be dross

Thats the opposite for me. I enjoy cricket in terms of the good of the game. Love to see good cricket no matter who is playing.

Its football I struggle with as a neutral.

This is obviously wrong :oops: ,we are a good test side but the ODI
team  :-))( ..er..we've got Freddie,K.P,Banger and Goughie and ..oh ..lets see.. the shirts are nice.I'm struggling a bit unfortunately :wink: .I agree with the pundits who say the ODI team should be as close to the test side as possible,surely if you make the test side it means you are one of the best players in the country and if thats the case is it really so hard to perform the same way in the ODIs as for the test team?I know there are specialist one day players,but frankly why have Bell on the subs bench when he could have played instead of Prior?Why play Jones and Prior in the same fucking team?

Considering the volume of one-day cricket we play domestically ODI wise we struggle.  I agree regards the test side being close to the ODI side, players like Butcher played over 50 test matches and never a one dayer.  I guess there will always be specialists though, some bowlers are too expensive for the one day game, and some not good enough wicket takers for teh test matches.  But batting wise it shoudl be more or less the same IMHO.

I agree,thats why it annoys me that they always try experiments i.e Jones/Prior opening the batting,when we have so few games to mess about in.What is the point?Open with Tres and Struss,then Virgil,then Bell.I'd also like to see KP come in after Fred maybe,as he is a good ODI player,and i think he could be more of a Bevan type player and save us in sticky situations.

I still think when it comes to the ODI we should try and more or less play the same side we would in the Test series, i dont see the point of bringing bits and pieces players into the side?.
