Title: Thoughts... Post by: Johno on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 17:49:46 Johnos thoughts are that it wasn't the best....i wouldn't say it was all bad as most people said, we could have won it, and so could they, so a point isn't all bad.
i can't be bothered to write loads, but im sure the rest of you can! Title: Thoughts... Post by: Luci on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 17:54:40 Complete rubbish.
Radio Swindon seem to think "the effort was there" b*ll*cks was it. Effortless was more accurate. Fallon was a waste of space today. The only praise I have is for Ricky Shakes as when he came on he tried hard and seemed to be able to keep possesion for more than a split second. Deserves a start next match. Thats my rant over for today. Title: Thoughts... Post by: Elsterap on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 17:54:47 We needed to win. Mikalando (sp?) and Bouazza werent playing brilliant but have to be better than play Brown and Holgate in such an important game.
Title: Thoughts... Post by: Johno on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:00:11 Shakes was good when he came on, should be starting. mcdermott was crap imo. Fasllon today wasn't with it, burt cant expect him to play well every week.
if he don't play well we don't score....shocking. Title: Thoughts... Post by: Piemonte on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:02:31 that was one of the worst games of football I have ever seen. both teams devoid of any quality at all. based on that its not easy to see why both clubs are at the bottom of the table.
the one decent thing to come out of it was we didnt lose it late on, with the disallowed goal (didnt look offside to me) and the one that hit the post. We created nothing in the 2nd half. Mikolanda should have scored 2 in the first half, the 1st chance was a real sitter. Results seem to have gone against us today as well, I was willing the ball to go in from one of those corners late on to get us an undeserved winner Title: Thoughts... Post by: Amir on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:02:31 I missed the first 15 minutes and it seems that was when we were at our best. What I saw was appalling. Smith, Fallon, Boozer, Pook, Migz and Mikobloke all had stinkers. At least when the subs were on Brown put in a couple of good dead balls, Shakes tried to get at them, and Holgate looked more of a threat than the rest of the team had managed all game.
Very lucky to get a point. Title: Thoughts... Post by: Piemonte on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:05:24 forgot to mention that Bouazza was fucking terrible and half arsed. half his brain was back in Watford.
We've GOT to find someone to play in midfield whos better than Pook and McDermot too. They both do alright and play with a decent commitment and work rate- but lack quality on the ball and any sort of passing range Title: Thoughts... Post by: Luci on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:14:02 I would disagree with regards to McDermott. He wasn't great but certainly far from being our worst player and was suprised they took him off.
Referee was absolutely sh*te - hadn't a clue. God I'm so annoyed. Title: Thoughts... Post by: Piemonte on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:17:01 dont get me wrong, I dont think hes totally shit or that he was particually bad today we just need someone better and have done for about 5 seasons.
I i want for chrismas is a midfiled player that can pass, tackle and run! Title: Thoughts... Post by: Spud on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:17:59 Ifil and Bouazza were our worst players, does Jerel know how to pass to feet wthout hoofing it into the stand?.
Apart from the frst 10-15 minutes we were poor, i dont even think their goal was offside. :| Title: Thoughts... Post by: yeo on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:21:48 Well it was my last game of the year and im bloody glad to say that.
Title: Thoughts... Post by: DV on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:23:51 Just no urgancy from most of the team.
It was odd, we had a good 5 minutes, then a shit 5 minutes then a good 5 minutes then a shit 5 minutes. Whoever said Bouazza was playing brilliant couldnt be more wrong, he was awful today. He spent all his time moaning at other players for giving him the ball where he wanted it, then when he did get it he didnt pass it once the whole game and just fan into 3 defenders all the time, glad he got taken off. Mikolanda should have had two Fallon has had his purple patch, we need to find a goal scorer Holgate, looked ok but had banana skins on his feet. Looked a bit more dangerous than most of our strikers. How many free kicks did we fucking waste....100, 200? Miglioranzi was ace then shit. One second he would put in a lovely through ball the next he would watch them take it off his feet. Pook just ran around McDermott wasnt brilliant but he seemed to be the only player with any urgency about him, he was putting the most effort it and Im surprised we subbed him, should have taken Fallon off and put Shakes up front. Nicholas was solid defensively, didnt get forward enough Ifil I thought played well, some good tackle.... SeanO was very poor I thought Smith was ok We need a goal scorer and a creator, we had neither today and we if we played on for another 3 years we still wouldnt have scored. Ricky Shakes did well and should start next game. I didnt think their goal was offside and laughed when I saw the linos flag Title: Thoughts... Post by: Reg Smeeton on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:27:52 Quote I didnt think their goal was offside and laughed when I saw the linos flag The lino flagged for a play previous to the goal, the ref never saw it.... Title: Thoughts... Post by: Piemonte on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:28:57 Nicho was our MOTM in my opinion. looked very solid defiensivly and mades some good tackles and blocks. had a decent shot too.
Ifil is such a retard. He even ignores simple passes now in order to hoof it to no-one the thick cunt Title: Thoughts... Title: Thoughts... Post by: Piemonte on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:34:55 I can fault his defending. The good recovery tackle he made late on was the man that he let go in the 1st place! and he got robbed by Parker (?) for the chance that hit the post
I just dont have any faith that he can go for more than 5 minutes without dropping a massive bollock, and dont see how the rest of the defence can have any confidence in him either. Title: Thoughts... Post by: Reg Smeeton on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:35:45 That was the first time our opponents have failed to score at the CG, and it was more by luck than judgement....we are just a poor side and you'd expect a half decent side, probably ColU to take us to the cleaners.
Title: Thoughts... Post by: Danjackson10 on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:45:23 We looked pretty awful! I bombed it back from Southampton to give the lads my support and they were rubbish! We are just too lightweight!
Title: Thoughts... Post by: sonicyouth on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 18:55:56 disgusted. no effort, no commitment, no passion, no interest.

Title: Thoughts... Post by: McLovin on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 19:04:05 My thoughts:
- I'm fed up of Evans not rolling it out short. Hoofing it forward is not the answer. - Pook is diabolical. The game just passes him by, and seeing as he is meant to have an 'engine', he looks surprisingly ufit for a 20 year old. - Nicho was good today, he made some timely interceptions and tackles, and had a good effort too - Migs is frustrating... good then bad, Jekyll and Hyde, all in one game - I think Ifil hates Brown, as every time he was free on the left, he opted for giving them a goal kick instead. - Holgate had his best first team outing and looked quite tasty in patches. - STFCLady looks better as a brunette. I'd agree with most of that. Holgate is a showy flash cunt. Title: Thoughts... Post by: Nomoreheroes on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 20:05:13 It appears to me that we have a goalscorer playing for ColU. What we need in Jan is a creative midfielder. It appears, from comments by you all, and from listening on t'internet that when Migz plays well then the team looks better. So, get someone consistent in there, teach Shakes to cross and get Cureton back to partner Fallon up front.
NMH Title: Thoughts... Post by: sonicyouth on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 20:09:18 easier said than done.
there's no way we can rely on cureton coming back to swindon and banging in the goal, the reality is that he'll probably play half a dozen games for us without scoring because he has no service. which is why we're so poor. if we had a consistent creative midfielder, stef wouldn't get in the team. as things stand, we have to take the rough with the smooth. as for shakes and learning to cross? you can't teach an old dog new tricks. we can however try to find a winger who can cross the ball. Title: Thoughts... Post by: Nomoreheroes on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 20:14:20 That was what I meant. Bring in a creative midfielder to feed Cureton and we will have some goals, which will help our defence, which will win us matches, which will give us points, which will propel us up the league, into the playoffs or automatic promotion slots.............OK, lets let Cureton go for nothing, get another bloody loan player up front, play hoof ball, lose a few, draw a few and get ready for League 2.

Things are going to boil down to how Iffy constructs his squad for the second half of the season.....as things stand of the 8 loan players...I'd imagine all will be gone (Gurney only because of injury)....Cureton, I think will move to ColU. Certainly there will be no permanent signings, and I'm not sure how many loans are left, but it can't be many...so we're going to have to use more of the kids. Title: Thoughts... Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 20:31:14 Bouazza was shite
Ifil was shite Mikolanda was shite Smith was shite Fallon didnt play particulalry well The only one who impressed me at all was Migs. Holgate and Shakes looked good when they came on as well. Ref had a shocker! How their central defender didnt pick up at least one booking for two GBH's on Fallon I will never know! And holgates booking... what a farce! their boy should have been sent off for retaliation as all Holgate did was jump for the ball. Fact that the blackpool player got caught between two players does not make it a foul, let alone a booking. Over all, im fuming, but at least it was only £15!!! Title: Thoughts... Post by: STFC_Chris on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 20:37:02 Ref was very fussy today, insisting on moving the ball a few inches before free kicks and goal kicks could be taken. He also seemed to quite like stopping just after we had taken corners.
Can't blame the ref for the result on this occasion though. Title: Thoughts... Post by: pauld on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 20:44:48 Pretty much agree with Piemonte's 1st post in the thread. We were crap, they were crap, ref and the lino on the South Stand side should both be taken out and given a thorough kicking by the referee's assesor for that "move the ball three inches but we'll let any kind of unarmed combat go so long as the victim's in red" crap. Oh, and I dropped my Coke under the seat in front when we all jumped up to celebrate Mikolanda's "goal" and then when I got it back, it exploded all over me. Not the weather to be sitting in wet jeans. Although it's been a while since I got so excited at a Town game that I wet my pants!
But good to see an improved gate after people's efforts Thursday night and the Keep Town in Swindon postcards went well. Title: Thoughts... Totally agree with that, we missed 2 sitters in the first 10 mintues and they had a goal ruled out, hit the woodwork twice and Evans made a great goal bound save. Now to me that says they had the better opportunities. |
