Not quite as good as Family Guy but has one or two moments a bit like King of the Hill that just catches you off guard with something that’ll have you in tears. Not quite as good as Family Guy but has one or two moments a bit like King of the Hill that just catches you off guard with something that’ll have you in tears. Caught some of it out in the US.... My favourite moment was when a mate of mine got the two mixed up and was telling us about this hillarious episode of Family Guy and then he started talking about the green alien. Me & my other mate hadnt seen American Dad, so we just looked at him like he was a nutter, then laughed alot. Wasnt untill I saw American Dad I knew what he was talking about, and that he wasnt a nutter. Title: Every Man's DVD collection should have....... Post by: pauld on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 02:26:20 Murder One, Series one. And as much as you can afford of the Sopranos (then burn me copies as well, please).
The Hitcher (Rutger Hauer) - though you really need to spend some wedge on a decent size telly and home theatre setup to get the most out of it. First saw it at the flicks about 15 years ago and it gave me collywobbles. Saw it a few years later on normal telly and couldn't remember why it'd had freaked me when I first saw it. Then saw it again on my mate's DVD projector thing and very nearly spoiled his sofa. Dunno why this one gets to me like that - it's just one of those films that gets under your skin. But not on a bog-standard telly apparently so I guess the atmosphere doesn't come out unless you've got the kit. Title: Every Man's DVD collection should have....... Title: Every Man's DVD collection should have....... Post by: flammableBen on Saturday, December 17, 2005, 02:57:39 Anyone mentioned withnail & I? fear and lothing is ok too. Alien and Aliens are most definately worth a shout (game over man). Also got round to watching Old Boy the other day and that definately has a place in anybodys film collection.
Spirited Away is a great film - bit of a disneyish japanese cartoon movie but actually amazingly ridiculously mega-ace-good. Of course you've got yorking tiger hidden dragon, hero and house of flying daggers. All of which are pretty good and nice looking in a cool arty sort of way.
