Difficult one this. For purposes of variety I'm going to discount fool and horses, monty python and fawlty towers which are all top notch in their own way.

Comedies that made me laugh at the time

1. Blackadder (in the particular order 2,4,3,1).
2. Red Dwarf (series 2 was my fav, series 7 didn't happen and 8 was only OK).
3. Men Behaving Badly AE (After Enfield)
4. Spitting Image (comedy or satire or both?)
5. Allo Allo...(Lt. Gruber and his "little tank" will be resurfacing to control England fans at the next world cup)

Only 5 is too difficult:

Drop the dead donkey, porridge, open all hours, Yes Minister/Prime minister, The good life, 2.4 children, fast show, young ones, Maid Marian and Her Merry Men, Brittas Empire, Citzen Smith, Coupling (not last series), Comic strip presents, Ever decreasing circles, Alan Partridge (a-ha), Game On,

I still think Blackadder goes forth is the best........... good selection there though.

Allo Allo! I used to love that, good old Rene!!!

I've ran it through the computer and "quiz shows" does not appear in the original post. There is a Little Britton catch phrase that applies here Walrus...Only gay in the village.

So you bring your gang and I'll bring mine and we'll meet in the STFC car park*. Fight Fight Fight

*you'll be to pissed and I won't show.

Got to give you the nod for those Yeovil I loved On the Buses, I was going to buy the DVD 3 film set today off ebay.

Got to give a shout to Last of the Summer Wine.

It's not funny but it's the warm traditional feel of a Sunday.

Fair play to the Tedmeister general.  I could have also said Porridge but you're only allowed five, it's the rules.  If I had said those two as well it would have been a top 7 and I would have been disqualified.  I just couldn't take that risk!
