They'll accept anyone to read English at Liverpool.

What do they offer if they expect that you'll end up with a derisory 3rd?

What are UCAS points worth these days? when I applied I needed 24 (3Bs), now I look at jobs and they want a 2:1 and 280 points or whatever?  I know it's meant ot include all sorts of vocational qualifications too, even music exams?

C: 80 and down in 20's

A (AS Level): 60

So 2 A's and a B which is what you said above, is 340 points, not 320, is it not.

Don't do any maths subsidiaries.

Crap. I am going to have to start looking at this kinda stuff soon. The problem is I have no idea what i want to do at uni, so therefore have no preference of uni. So therefore am finding it hard to know which to look at!

what a-levels are you doing dex? i've considered sports journalism but i dropped media after about three weeks.

i've done history and english language A levels already. i've got a D in french As level knocking about aswell  8)

i'm doing my second year of media now because i only started it last year- im enjoying it, can imagine why people would drop it though. got a high A in AS level so it's just a question of maintaining standards.

as for john ritson, i dont really know, he seems a bit of a wanker but i dont know him. he's got his own column in a local rag. not exactly something to aspire to.

im applying to cardiff too, but they're after ABB or something for a journalism course. iv got no chance of getting ABB but my D in French and my charm might get me in    we'll see. if i dont get the A in media, westminster are after BCB for journalism.

Is that film jounalism and broadcasting at Cardiff? my mate did that seemed like a decent course (he got a first).

Qulaification for sports jounalism?  I do my weekly match report for Swindon web and have no qulaifications whatsoever in that area, piece of cake!

yeah decided i couldnt be fucked with a proper proper course, hopefully something enjoyable and one i've got an interest in.

the cardiff course is called journalism, film and media. to be honest i'd rather do the sports journalism in brighton, but the cardiff one seems a higher standard.

good stuff. i'm doing english language as well.

i'd have continued with media but our lecturers were awful and i sort of dropped it on a whim without thinking about it properly, shame really because it would be a piece of piss.

what's english like at a2?

errr i dunno, very tough. but because my college is diabolical we only got 2 and a half hours worth of lectures a week, when you should have 5. might be more straight forward with the proper amount of hours.

we did a coursework module which i did alright on so i was full of confidence going into the exams. quality module called editorial writing where you get a hefty pack of info 48 hours before the exam on a subject. then you re write to suit a task you get given on the day of the exam.

Why not exercise the 'positive discrimination angle' - there's only Garth Crooks and Kamara plying the trade  :soapy tit wank:

is that new college? 2 and a half hours worth is fuck all, i do 4 and a half (on the occasions i go) and that doesn't seem anywhere near enough.

editorial writing sounds ace. just started our first coursework module which is persuasive writing, dull as fuck but fairly straightforward. i just hate having to write commentary on all my work.

My uni has the highest entry tariff for a course of it's kind. Although it is a good uni, it's mainly due to the high demand rather than the reputation of the course itself.

Interview at 12.30 (about half an hour) so should be home by 5  8)

Then down the pub for 6  8)

Yesterday went pretty well (seeing as they've kept me back for a second day), altough I was a tad unprepared for the magnitude of the whole thing. It was a real 3 person grilling for the best part of 2 hours.
