I haven't seen a lot of this Essien fella, but from what i have seen £24m seems to be a lot for him.  Lyon must have been laughing all the way to the bank.

He's a good player but 24 million is too much for any player,the thing is everyone and their mother knows that Chelsea have more money than sense,so when they come knocking for a player the price tag rises.

I watched the Ranger game - although I don't really like then - I figured they would have to go for it and it would be more lively than the 0-0 between Liverpool and Chelsea.

It was quite good, but after Rangers has played for the draw, I really wanted Artemedia to score in the last minute, just to see and bunch of hairy Scots cry  :twisted:

Essien is a good player, I don't think £24m is that overpriced, there aren't many better midfielders in the premiership. Just Lampard and Gerrard and possibly Makalele. Nasty tackle though.

Thought the game was ok but both teams have outstanding defences, Robben really should have scored.
