Crouchy has got two and fucking well done to him, he's very unlucky to have waited this long wouldn't be surprised if he gets a hat trick now.

It was always going to be the case that when he got one he'd get another soon after. He now has 2 in 9 premiership starts which is more than Fernando Morientes.

The first was lucky but he's been so unlucky so many times this year so totally deserves it, even if it doesn't get credited to him, there's no doubt about his second, quality goal.

It took Fjortoft till January to get his first premiership goal, most Swindon fans but not me thought he was shit even though he'd been playing well but after that he got 12 in 16 games.

The first should definitely be given to him as well, as it was already on target before the goalkeeper touched it so not an own goal.

It was always on target, of course he can claim it. I agree with Hansen and Lineker, there's no way you can give that as an own goal.

The orginal shot was going wide before it hit Baines, it was the deflection that beat the keeper, not the orginal shot.....

That is never given as an own goal. If you were going to give those as own goals you'd have to give any shot that was on target with the keeper trying but failing to tip around the post or over as own goals but they are not. Goals are not given as own goals just because the keeper got a touch and it was a difficult shot to save.

It wasn't though, I've watched it in slow motion and it was on target, the deflection just takes it upwards, if it hadn't hit the defender it would probably have gone in anyway and would definitely have been on target. Should be Crouchy's goal without doubt.

An own goal should be for when a shot or pass that's going well wide is knocked in by mistake at the last minute, or a dodgy back pass or when a defender tries to make a clearance and puts the ball in his own net.

It should definitely not be an own goal when a player runs half the length of the pitch, has the courage to shoot from outside the penalty area and hits a great shot which despite taking a deflection still goes in and would've been on target without the deflection.

Does it matter? He's still shit! :grin:
