Its all over for us now  :( which will mean that England will be declared the worse team ever in the papers tomorrow [probably :wink: ]Here are some of my excuses for our boys :roll: .
-No Simon Jones. :( He was a part of the seam attack that won us the Ashes.Imagine if he'd been fit,working his reverse swing magic with the old ball in the place where the art was developed.Big loss.

-K.O.S and the spinners doing nothing [apart from bat well  :roll: ]I think Gilo has had his injury throughout the tour as well which has effected his game.
-Losing the toss twice and then conversely winning it in this test match which i think lured the batsmen into thinking it would be easy to score runs,which meant a few of them gave their wickets away.
-Our batting which  right from the start ,even during the warm up games,has been suspect and fragile.We lost the first and now probably deciding test in Multan because none of the batsmen had the patience or nous to hang around,lets not forget we only lost by 22 runs.
-And last but not least tne performance of the Pakistan team.Which even in spite of awful umpiring and not having two of their best players in every test,have out performed us and deserve to win the series.

Good starting eleven but not so good strength in depth?

my excuses: most of them have never played in the sub continent before, injuries, a big headed "we are the best" attitude to our game after this summers success! well done England!  :-))(

I don't care...I don't think we should tour Pakistan its not right that the fellas have to stay locked up in a hotel surrounded by security......part of cricket touring since its inception has been a social aspect.

 After the Shakoor Rana incident with Gatting we stopped touring there because of blatant cheating ...14 years I think between visits....as Ian Botham famously said "I wouldn't send my mother to Pakistan"

i agree Reg but with all the Zimbabwe row over the last 2 years i dont think the team thought it was worth skipping the tour particularly after the ashes win

 Well they've tried to cut down the time spent away to a minimum.....and there are a few plusses to take out of it namely Bell and Collingwood getting some runs, Plunkett looking a decent prospect.

 The series v India is what I'm looking forward to,  seems to me that the Indians embody the true spirit of the game.

they do but they also have a good batting line up which is something we currently dont have  :|

For the first time ever i have to disagree with you Reg :shock: I think touring in Pakistan is a good thing ,especially with the exposure the England players have given to the earthquake appeal.Security is tight of course which is a shame but its the way of the world at the moment.I think inspite of the awful umpiring and Afridi's Strictly come dancing audition the series has been played in great spirit and the Pakistan fans have been great.Hopefully as well it will improve the lads game as well.

not safe to play out there .you have to be 100% prepared and if you are in constant fear of your safety your not gonna be top of your game..if pakistan played a game in front of the bnp they would struggle wouldnt they

I don't think the average pakistani crowd is as racist as the BNP.  As far as I'm aware they are a bit mad (for cricket) but not outwardly facist.

Hope we win the one day series .. we can say we are focusin on the world cup then!

There is still a while to go until the world cup yet isn't there though?Personally i don't think we stand much chance in the O.D.I's against Pakistan either :(

I said before the tour that we would win the Test series but lose the ODI's easily.  :shock:
