Title: Is there a difference between a fan and a supporter? Post by: Tails on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 21:21:23 Your thoughts?
Ie. A supporter goes to support the team and watches the games and a fan is someone who cheers the team on but maybe from home aka an armchair fan or glory supporter. Title: Is there a difference between a fan and a supporter? Post by: Sade on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 21:40:12 Its the other way around SUPPORTer goes and supports the team and is loyal, a fan is one of those people 'oh I follow their results' or in other words I sit on my ass with a beer watching sky sports because I can't be assed to go :D Thats what I thinks.

Title: Is there a difference between a fan and a supporter? Post by: Cookie on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 22:24:37 Doesn't the word Fan derive from fanatic? This means a fan will follow the team however good or bad because they are crazy and fanatic.
A supporter is simply someone who will go and support the team but never reach the levels of dedication that a fan does! Title: Is there a difference between a fan and a supporter? Title: Is there a difference between a fan and a supporter? Post by: oxford_fan on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, 14:29:04 There are alot of football fans about, but fewer supporters.
Basically I'd say someones not a proper supporter unless they've been to matches regularly for an extended period of time. Title: Is there a difference between a fan and a supporter? Post by: land_of_bo on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, 14:52:28 Fans keep things cool and supporters hold things up?
