That's a levee. Don Mclean originally did that song. A levee is an embankment next to a river to prevent flooding.

Why would you want to drive to a levee anyway?

Why not?  maybe (queue potentially long and controversial debate) it's because it's a terrible song?

Storm chasers. They drive around everywhere to try and find flooded rivers. That's why she was so disappointed that the levee was dry.

It's probably because it rhymes with a make of an American car  :roll:

It's also something to do with Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Richie Valens who died in a plane crash. I've heard that it's a reference to a three murdered people who were buried in a levee, although there are so many interpretations it could be tripe.
