Title: Mark D Post by: Piemonte on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 12:05:44 Is he really Mark Devlin?
to be fair I think it is him, given his comments on the stadium thread. But the cynical side of me cant help but think its MHWG's best ever wind up If it is MD, no offence, keep up the good work. we just get wind up merchants on here :D Title: Mark D Post by: mattboyslim on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 12:12:21 He has been on the thisis site before with the same name, it seems a bit to uncontroversial to be MHWG, he says he looks at the forums so why not him?
Title: Mark D Post by: Sippo on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 12:26:04 MHWG wouldn't choose a name like that anyhow.

Title: Mark D Post by: janaage on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 12:37:08 MHWG wind ups are funny, entertaining, and pretty clever when you think about them.
If this is a wind up it's a pointless one. Waste of their and our time. Title: Mark D Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 12:43:58 It has none of the hallmarks of MHWG. Good to see Devlin on here.
Title: Mark D Post by: Whits on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 12:46:23 Everything i can see from a mod/admin view looks correct and unlike the previous pranksters.
Title: Mark D Post by: Piemonte on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 12:49:39 Fair enough. I take it back then
Hiya Mark  Title: Mark D Post by: fatbury on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 12:50:13 Mark Devlin is on OUR forum?
Title: Mark D Post by: STFCBird on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 12:53:20 don't cum in your pants fatbury
fair play for him coming on here and taking an intrest in our views. Title: Mark D Post by: land_of_bo on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 12:57:19 Wonder if he is enjoying the World Cup Stunners?

Title: Mark D Post by: land_of_bo on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 13:31:26 I can picture it now
Q - Mark, anything interesting bubbling on that hotbed of STFC rumour and chat, thetownend.com A - There seems to be a wealth of young, foreign talent around at the moment, I'll keep you posted Title: Mark D Post by: Piemonte on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 13:33:12 :soapy tit wank:
I'm sure hes made his way down to NSFW section by now and is enjoying some of Spuddys threads ! :nono: Title: Mark D Post by: land_of_bo on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 13:34:02 Yes, I'm sure some topics need some "out of hours" investigation
Title: Mark D Post by: Piemonte on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 13:37:24 indeed. I'm surprised that they've even got internet access at the CG to be honest :?
Title: Mark D Post by: janaage on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 13:44:27 He's probably pulled a sickie today and posting whilst watching This Morning.
Title: Mark D Post by: Sussex on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 13:47:51 Like fuck is it Mark Devlin.
Wasn't Grunt Sniff rumoured to read the forums too? If that little shit didn't post a response to the crap dished out to him, why would Devlin feel the need to post on here. Surely he'd go through the proper channels to comment on the club. Someone's on a wind-up surely (excellent spelling and grammer though, so obviously not a regular on here) :D Title: Mark D Post by: STFCBird on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 13:51:33 maybe he will meet us at the merlin for a pre match drink :-))(
Title: Mark D Post by: mattboyslim on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, 14:07:44 Maybe he could tell us who's spanking Aston Martin is in the car park on match days recently, mores the point whoever it belongs to, can we have some money please?
Title: Mark D Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, 11:53:02 FWIW I think its Devlin.
Title: Mark D Post by: yeo on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, 13:10:05 For what its worth.
Title: Mark D Post by: Sippo on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 08:41:03 Mark Devlin will be on wiltshire sound at half 10 this morning to answer questions.
Title: Mark D Post by: Sippo on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 10:45:26 East of the A419 has been mentioned...
Title: Mark D Post by: Northern Red on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 10:49:40 Shrivenham Town Football Club wouldn't be too bad and we'd be able to keep the STFC bit.
Wanborough Wanderers anyone? Just one thing - east of the A419 is the community forest - aka green belt So we'd be looking at moving to Wantage or Abingdon Title: Mark D Post by: Sippo on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 10:50:53 By Honda
Title: Mark D Post by: mattboyslim on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 10:51:54 Not AKA green belt, that's a totally different legal entity, community forset still doesn't sound good. It could mean the east side of the A419 out of town towards Gloucester maybe?
Title: Mark D Post by: Northern Red on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 10:52:26 in Honda - it's got to be big enough to fit a football stadium inside hasn't it?
Title: Mark D Post by: fatbury on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 10:53:31 Great idea!
Title: Mark D Post by: Northern Red on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 10:54:19 Quote from: "mattboyslim" Not AKA green belt, that's a totally different legal entity, community forset still doesn't sound good. It could mean the east side of the A419 out of town towards Gloucester maybe? Anything North East is encroaching on Oxford fans base - so would be denied by the powers that be FA/UEFA/FIFA etc. North encroaches on Cheltenham's catchment population Either South, East, or West then Title: Mark D Post by: Sippo on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 10:56:37 He refers a lot to Rugby, and reading/london irish. Makes you think. But he's right behind the idea of CG redevelopment. He wants to stay where we are which is good.
Title: Mark D Post by: mattboyslim on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 10:56:42 It could be on the East side of the 419 as it leaves the Town just outside SBC boundaries
Title: Mark D Post by: Sippo on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 11:31:13 The bloke is obviously very passionate about STFC. What pisses me off is that members of the public have negative thoughts. Why? One bloke said 'Why should I as a SBC tax payer, pay for STFC to develop its ground?'. FFS, it'll benefit the whole town bring in extra revenue etc.
I would just like to congratulate Mark on a brilliant radio interview and hopefully all goes well for monday. Title: Mark D Post by: Piemonte on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 11:32:58 I think that the land inbetween Cricklade and Blunsdon is where they are looking. I've nothing to back that up, it just makes sense. NWBC rather than SBC, most of the land is privatly owned by farmers I'd imagine.
Good transport link with the A419, not far from Swindon itself. I could be wide of the mark but it would all make sense to me. Title: Mark D Post by: STFC Village on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 11:34:37 Quote from: "Piemonte" I could be wide of the mark You should go into stand-up Monte :DTitle: Mark D Post by: Piemonte on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 11:35:55 :soapy tit wank: I didnt even think about that. Its the MARK of true genius, that

Not to mention that most of us pay council tax for suff we never use ourselves. If we didn't the system would collapse. Title: Mark D Post by: DV on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 14:05:47 seems I've missed a few things on my travels.
Can we not get a football stadium that floats in the sky? A mate of a mate has some land near Blunsdon, applied for planning permission for a small bungalow - denied They will never get permission for a Football Stadium around there. Title: Mark D Post by: janaage on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 14:10:59 The Blunsdon lot are the biggest NIMBY's out there. Agree with NR.

Don't they want a new by pass? Title: Mark D Post by: janaage on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 14:14:23 With regards to the by pass there's been meeting after meeting about that. The local residents stick together like glue. I only know as my mrs' family seem to have a lot of friends from Blunsdon and they're always going on about meetings.
Title: Mark D Post by: Sippo on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 14:17:50 Thats an idea...Give them a by-pass then put the new stadium where the old one went! wahey! :D :soapy tit wank:
Title: Mark D Post by: CARTMAN on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 14:35:03 we barely get 4,500 going with the stadium in the town centre what chance have we got if you stick it in the middle of nowhere

I could be wide of the mark but it would all make sense to me. I live near there some of the time and would say there is no chance of building a stadium there, dunno which side of the road you mean but pretty much all of the land on the right as you go down Blunsdon Hill is owned by one guy and he wouldn't sell, it would never get planning permission anyway as it's all greenfield land and there is a small forest on the right. Title: Mark D Post by: mattboyslim on Thursday, December 1, 2005, 15:49:25 Didn't Mark D, say he'd been approached, which wherever it is suggests that he has either a keen landowner and/or a keen local council for the project, which must remove the odd stumbling block. I agree though BWB that area would be something of a surprise.
