No, Matt le Tissier was amazing though, one of the most underrated players ever. If he wasn't so loyal to Southampton he would have won a huge amount of awards and trophies. Shame he didn't play for England much. I wasn't totally serious saying he was better than George Best, however he did score better goals. The same is true of Don Rogers's 150+ goals fro STFC, only a handful are on film. This makes it a bit diffficult for comparing the generations. To pose such skill/composure and do it week in week out proves he is one of the all time greats. Best is and always will be a legend. It's just a shame he threw it away with drink. Against a premiership standard defence and goalkeeper? The second le tissier goal is one of the all time best goals ever, you can't get much better than that. If you could score goals like that on a regular basis you would be playing for England. Title: Great George Best goal + Ronaldinho Post by: magicroundabout on Sunday, November 27, 2005, 23:34:45 rubbish.
no matter who it's played against there is always goals that no one will save. Matt T is a great player but those goals are nothing special. Gazza's in Euro '96 is better Title: Great George Best goal + Ronaldinho Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Sunday, November 27, 2005, 23:48:20 No I think if you compare le tissier's against newcastle with Gazza's Le Tissier's is clearly better. Gazza is set up by a pretty decent pass and beats one defender and volleys it in. Very good goal from an oustanding player no doubt.
Le tissier though is set up with a poor pass behind him but with incredible skill and an unbelievable first touch he somehow manages to flick it over his head and set himself up then juggle it over two defenders and volleys it in from further out than Gazza, you can't fully appreciate it from that picture. Matt L was one and George Best is another. I hope we can remember all of them when they pass on Title: Great George Best goal + Ronaldinho Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Sunday, November 27, 2005, 23:57:23 Quote from: "magicroundabout" Quote from: "Ben Wah Balls" No I think if you compare le tissier's against newcastle with Gazza's Le Tissier's is clearly better. I don't think it was fluke personally, he did it too many times. Title: Great George Best goal + Ronaldinho Post by: magicroundabout on Monday, November 28, 2005, 00:00:29 Each one is better than each other in there own right.
