I think one of the best I've read is the true account of a prison football team called manslaughter united, very enjoyable.

He got away with writing a lot of fantasy at the time as he was before popular use of the internet so avoided being discredited in public by real lads. He used to post as 'Berko' on ITK but everyone started slagging him off (not without reason, he was a Watford fan but began to support Chelsea instead cos they had a bigger firm, plus he used to say he was Chelsea's top boy) so he doesnt post much anymore. I once told one of my mates a story from one of his books (taking it seriously) and he laughed in my face! The newer ones are usually more accurate. Theres an A-Z of firms about somewhere, that should be a decent read (nice and broken up to suit my attention span!). You've only got about 200 to choose from in the last few years. Futebol was interesting and entertaining in parts. My mate said that 'a season with Verona' was ace. Fever pitch is crap, I could stick the entry 15th March 1969, just cos we stuffed it in his crappy maidenhead arsenal school teacher face.
