Title: evans Post by: STFCere on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, 21:43:07 does anybody think he will come back soon? does anybody want him back soon?! i reckon he loves imself way 2 much.
Title: evans Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, 21:49:06 This injury is a worry, as it seems relatively minor, but is going on too long.
He's still young for a keeper, and may come back stronger as a result, although he's had his moments in trhe past I think we've missed him. Heaton has done OK, but its probably no coincidence that we've only won the one game since Evans was injured. Title: evans Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, 21:49:13 I think you are being harsh.
Much batter than bloody Bulman!!!! Deserves his place back when Heaton goes Title: evans Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, 21:50:44 Quote from: "reeves4england" I think you are being harsh. Title: evans Post by: Nils on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, 22:20:52 Evans tried to rush back and so is out for a while yet.
Title: evans Post by: Asher on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, 23:04:03 He is so not up himself and thats from me that knows him. Top lad
Title: evans Post by: janaage on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, 09:23:21 I've met Rhys a few times and think he's a decent down to earth fella. When the others were pissed up idiots in Longs the other week Rhys looked embarassed to be asscoiated with them, I think he's just a bit more grown up than some of his team mates, not stuck up at all.
Title: evans Post by: fatbury on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, 09:26:21 Rhys is just a true pro .. focused on making it to the top
Latest news is after his week in Lillleshall his leg is feelin much better and hes earmarked Peterboro game in LDV as a comeback but is making sure he is 100 percent b4 attempting full training this time. To be fair Heaton has done brilliantly - one major error aside .. but Rhys IS the better keeper .. trust me  Title: evans Post by: McLovin on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, 09:30:01 I prefer Heaton, but when he goes, Evans is a more than capable replacement.
Agree with Jan about his degree of professionalism too. He's always on water or has an occasional glass of wine the evenings i've seen him. A credit to himself and the club. Title: evans Post by: DV on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, 10:28:25 Evans is also one of the only 'younger' players with a steady girlfriend and a child....
Although, I do think Heaton is a better keeper and the backline has looked more solid with him in it. Future England Number 1!! Title: evans Post by: fatbury on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, 10:31:40 Id look at signing Heaton for sure ... especially as more than likely Evans will be looking to move on in the summer
Title: evans Post by: janaage on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, 10:33:24 No chance of signing Heaton Utd aren't going to let him go, he has potential to do very very well I reckon.
Title: evans Post by: DV on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, 10:36:07 United would be fools to let him go, esp seen as Van Der Sarr is getting on a bit and Tim Howard is cack. Watford fans dont think much of Ben Foster either. He'll go onto better things that Swindon thats for sure.
Title: evans Post by: barmyarmy on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, 15:56:12 Rhys is a top, top keeper and i dont think heaten is in his class at all just yet.

I dont Heaton is in Evans class, he is in a higher one.... 8) Title: evans Post by: PHIL!!!! on Thursday, November 10, 2005, 09:45:14 I reckon Heaton is a top goalkeeper, but if Evans was back from injury, i would pick him over Heaton. Purely because Evans is goin to be here longer and i think Evans is slightly better IMO.
Heaton is still a quality keeper by all means. But i can see Evans missin another 3 months, so lets hope Heaton stays until the end of the season at least. Title: evans Post by: PHIL!!!! on Thursday, November 10, 2005, 09:48:30 I personally think we should try and sign a keeper in january as i feel Heaton may go back to United. Also it would be good back up, rather than havin Bulman as back up.
That Oldham keeper who came on for Chris Day against Chase Town on sunday would have been a good addition to the squad as he is young, so therefore wouldnt ask for much wages. I think hes only on a non-contract basis at Oldham anyway.... Title: evans Post by: mattboyslim on Thursday, November 10, 2005, 09:51:32 Chris day was once one of the most highly rated keepers about, and a very high profile victim of bosman/itv digital fallout, whereby short contracts are given out and even quality players struggle to find clubs. He was unemployed for a while and I think only went to Oldham when the departure of Pogliacomi was imminent, a good keeper former under21 I think.
Title: evans Post by: janaage on Thursday, November 10, 2005, 10:01:21 Pogliacomi's always impressed me when I've seen him play, solid keeper.
Title: evans Post by: DMR on Thursday, November 10, 2005, 14:43:22 I don't know about the guy as a person but as a footballer he seems a bit up himself... rarely took the blame for his mistakes etc. but he's a valuable asset to this club. Hope he's back soon.
Title: evans Post by: sonicyouth on Thursday, November 10, 2005, 16:09:36 considering the progress heaton has made whilst he's been here, i can see manyoo agreeing to let us keep him until the end of the season.
i hope so because he's a bloody good keeper. Title: evans Post by: alex_stfc on Thursday, November 10, 2005, 20:20:07 heaton over rhys any day. Untied would be fools to let him go.

Title: evans Post by: Stef Troll on Thursday, November 10, 2005, 20:36:07 Yeah Heaton all day long. Heaton has only made a couple of mistakes since he signed for Town on loan. However the amount of times hes got us out of jail (Boston last minute) (Pawel Abbott save on the line), he single handidly has won us points. He's done well considering recent team performances.
Hopefully ManUtd will let him go on a freebie so that Town can sign him. However i cant see it myself. Title: evans Post by: STFC Village on Thursday, November 10, 2005, 23:41:46 Quote from: "simon pieman" evans above That made me laugh a lot :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: :oops:Title: evans Post by: Nils on Thursday, November 10, 2005, 23:42:54 Evans is an excellent keeper for league 1 football.
