Complain.  Which bank are you with?  Halifax do some very reasonable rates of interest on current accounts....and they have the good advert when the man rides the giant bird :o

Lloyds TSB. I've got a £100 o/d limit but I was under that, they usually send me a letter of warning a few days before. It can't be an accident can it?

Wait until you get your statement through, if it is wrong go in and give them a rollocking.

Have you got online banking? Check recent transactions and see if you went over the £100 limit (or get a printout from a cashpoint tomorrow).

Always question a bank charge if you're not sure about it. They do make mistakes.

Could be. Ring them up to clarify it.  As it is an overdraft EXCESS fee maybe it means that you are overdrawn too much or have been overdrawn too many times.  Banks are funny with things like that.

I told you to get a student account and a dirty big overdraft.

Make an appointment, explain your a smelly student and you'd like a student account.

You'd be surprised how helpfull banks can be if you go in face to face.

My student debt all in as about 12k, but i cam einto a few quid I looked to invest and if you go and speak to banks face to face, they treat you nicely and even call you sir, a rare luxury in my world.

Sonic just go in and ask them why did you get charged, Lloyds are really good usually.  Also if you explain you're a student their eyes will light up.  You have a good chance of making and banking a lot of money with them in years to come and that should be enough for them to waive the fee.  If iit doesn't work move banks, it's much more easy than people think.  Usually if you go into another bank, if you're overdrawn or not they sort out all your direct debits etc.

Sorry, that was a toungue in cheek comment aimed at my reduced spending power since I've had to fork out on shoes and the like.  She even makes me buy new ones every now and then!!

Sonic Lloyds TSB are shit, they charged me £60 for nothing the other day, I argued with them and threatened to move to Natwest and they refunded me.  They had double charged me for overdraft charges. Go in and say oi bitch  :fu:   :D

The only bank I've really had trouble with is Halifax, which is why I don't use that account much anymore

Sonic write em a letter demanding it be refunded and charge them £10 for your time...my mate did it and they paid up!

HSBC Grad Account, currently have a £1250 Overdraft facility decreasing every year after graduation, along with 5 other bank/building society accounts, the free railcard I got just ran out though!
