Title: Wiltshire Premier Shield game tonight Post by: sonicyouth on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 13:39:30 if you don't live too far away and you've got nowt to do tonight, get your arse along to the county ground.
it's only a fiver and will be a good opportunity to see some of the youths and reserves in action if you're unable to go to reserve games due to the afternoon kick-offs. kick-off is 7:30pm, £5 for adults and £1 for children. imagine the club's surprise if nearly 1,000 people turned up :D of course, if you've got other stuff to do or can't be arsed then i can't blame you, but try and make the effort. i'll buy you a pint Title: Wiltshire Premier Shield game tonight Post by: McLovin on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 13:51:55 i'm giving this serious consideration. i want to see what Ben Wells can offer, how shit Chris Taylor is, and whether Thorpe can actually still fill the onion bag.

Title: Wiltshire Premier Shield game tonight Post by: normy on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 21:01:47 A cracker from the edge of the box laid on by Wells.
Thorpe was useless, I dislike him more and more. Bulman made some smart saves to keep us in it. Title: Wiltshire Premier Shield game tonight Post by: Elsterap on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 21:02:02 Twas a good goal aswell. From edge of area into top left.
Title: Wiltshire Premier Shield game tonight Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 21:02:50 will Thorpe ever score?
Title: Wiltshire Premier Shield game tonight Post by: STFC_Chris on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 21:03:18 Wow, what a game! :?
1-0 win to Swindon, Heath with a left foot shot from outside the area into the top corner during the second half. Thorpe was shit, had the ball at his feet within 6/7 yards of the goal on several occasions and didnt manage to get a shot on target. Ben Wells did well, particularly in the second half. He did a very flash looking turn on the edge of the area, pro-evo-esque...nothing came of it though. Our number 3 (left back) had a decent game, as did number 11 (David Stroud?). Bulman made a good save second half. You didnt really miss much if you didnt go. Sat in the directors box in the second half...the comfy seats made it slightly more bare-able. Title: Wiltshire Premier Shield game tonight Post by: sonicyouth on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 21:15:17 That was ace, I travelled from Oxford, Whits came from Newbury and Mex came all the way from Brighton - LOYAL SUPPORTERS!
Pretty dull game but some nice football nevertheless, both Stroud and Wells stood out as good players whilst Thorpe was totally disinterested, made no effort to attack the ball from crosses and stood with his hands on his hips and sighing for most of the game. Went straight down the tunnel after he got subbed as well. Heath's goal wasn't bad but he was shite for the rest of the game, constantly muscled off the ball by non-league part-timers whilst Collins looked to have finally found his level. Chris - number 3 was Chris Taylor. Title: Wiltshire Premier Shield game tonight Post by: Whits on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 21:16:33 Quote Heath's goal wasn't bad It was the best goal i've seen this season from us...doesn't say much though!! Cheers, I don't know if it is just because we were playing non-league opposition but he did a good job, one for the future perhaps...especially when we get relegated. Was sat to the right of two reporters...Jon Ritson, I think. Trying to read what he was writing, but I think it was shorthand or some foreign language. thought wells was good on the right but when he went into the middle after heath went off he disapeared, heath was quite good i thought, we stopped passing it after he got subbed and he scored a cracking goal bulman made a brilliant save in the second half stroud was better in the first half than second and the rest of them were pretty poor. i just travelled 250 miles to watch a reserve game i am officially a cunt. Title: Wiltshire Premier Shield game tonight Post by: Foggy on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 08:18:30 I think sometime in the middle of January, which will probably mean March. Salisbury have got a nice little set up ,the ground has only got three sides but the playing surface would not look out of place in the Championship. They signed Tommy Widdrington 2 days after Port vale played us last season at the county ground. They used to have good ties with Swindon,Ian Herring and Steve Mildenhall both had good loan spells there, and they had the clown Jimmy Glass for a couple of games.
I cant get to many games at the CG so it would be good to meet a few from the forum and put faces to names. Others thought he had poor control and touch and positioning, so out. Leigh brought some memories back!
