Title: ratings v scunthopre Post by: DMR on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 17:30:35 heaton- did everything competantly, not alot to do but made a great double save in the 2nd half- 7
o'hanlon- back near his best i thought, impressed me today- 7 gurney- often got caught out of position and his typical wasteful self but look solid defensively- 6 jenkins- look very unfit and played accordingly, still our most committed player- 5 nicholas- had a storming second half, to be fair most of the scunny pressure came down the opposite side- 6 mcdermott- missed a sitter and was useless until he went off- 3 pook- crap passing again let him down, generally worked hard but generally not good enough- 5 whalley- overrun for alot of it, i don't remember anything apart from his nearly-wondergoal- 5 roberts- electric last 15 minutes boosts his woeful effort until then- 6 bouazza- ditto- 7 fallon- ridiculous dive, ridiculous attitude and silly elbow- 2 comyn-platt- excellent, should keep ifil out- 8 Title: ratings v scunthopre Post by: Johno on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 17:32:27 i'd agree with that.
Title: ratings v scunthopre Post by: DV on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 17:33:09 I'd agree that CCP looked good and solid when he came on
Title: ratings v scunthopre Post by: blinkpip on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 18:08:36 I thought Gurney was ace today. He had a lot of fight and the only one in the first half showing some fight.
I found it funny when he push one of their players over when the ref wasn't looking and also his little tugs and niggles. Class. My motm: Gurns, Bouazza and Roberts. O'Hanlon - 6 Quite solid but often wasted possession by hoofing too much Gurney - 7 Very committed and solid, passing was better, best at CB Jenkins - 3 Given the runaround and looked unfit, passing poor Nicholas -8 Overall our best player, defended and attacked effectively Whalley - 3 A major disappointment after his good game vs Stevenage McDermott - 3 Anonymous except for missing an open goal close in. Pook - 4 I am a fan but he was awful today, especially his passing Roberts - 5 overall, why does he start so disinterestedly? Bouazza - 6 overall, I blame the system, not him, for his poor first half Fallon - 3 A dive, frustration not controlled, an elbow, let us down Comyn Platt - 6 Very promising, but starting a game is what counts Title: ratings v scunthopre Post by: Spencer_White on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 18:45:42 Of all the loan players at the moment the only one Il be sorry to see leave is that Bouazza. Real exciting player, determined runs at defenders. Wish Roberts would show us some more of that.

saved us at the end O'Hanlon 6 average but solid Gurney 6 worked hard, acted like a cunt Jenkins 5 unfit and at fault for the first goal, had three players taking him on at times with no cover from mcdermott though Nicholas 6 bombed forward and defended admirably Whalley 4 found his level against stevenage on tuesday night, little better than a conference player McDermott 3 toss, physically unable to run Pook 2 couldn't pass, couldn't tackle and gave the ball away constantly Roberts 5 typical performance from him, selfish, greedy but a threat Bouazza 6 improving with each game, looks scary when running at people Fallon 5 lacked support and the dive was a questionable moment of his attitude Comyn-Platt 6 i'd give him a start ahead of ifil on saturday Title: ratings v scunthopre Post by: Rich Pullen on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 19:20:46 Quote from: "sonicyouth" Heaton 7 Nicholas 6 bombed forward and defended admirably It's funny because the Scunny commentators singled Nico out as not "League One pedigree" (not as a compliment) I thought it was harsh at the time. Title: ratings v scunthopre Post by: yeo on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 20:06:14 Phil King said he was probably our best player first half?
Title: ratings v scunthopre Post by: Bedford Red on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 20:08:28 Most of the listeners on here had to listen to the Scunthorpe Commentary as STFC World couldn't get Swindon Commentary!
They definately didn't rate him at all. Title: ratings v scunthopre Post by: Spencer_White on Saturday, October 22, 2005, 20:19:11 Nicholas' first touch was a disgrace. But he was at least in some way effective.
Id give Gurney a 4, max. I didnt think he worked hard at all. In regards to McDermot, really regret giving away Steve Robinson now. Old head, knew the club, had seen things turned around before. Title: ratings v scunthopre Post by: DV on Sunday, October 23, 2005, 12:18:31 Heaton - Some good saves - 7
Jenkins - People keep saying unfit, be fair Peter Beagrie is still a good player, anyone at right back would have had been given the run around and he was never going to get cover from Roberts - 5 O'Hanlon - Thought he was rather solid, wasted possesion - 6 Gurney - Mixed bag again, some good passes some crap ones. Still hitting the wall with EVERY free kick he has taken - 6 Nicholas - Very poor first touch, other than that he did ok - 5 Roberts - Typical Christian Roberts, one minuted he looked like a fat lazy sack of shit, the next minute he was skinning 3 players at once. Needs to be less greedy. Glad he stuck the penalty away though - 6 McDermott - why, just why? Whalley - Still doesnt look fit enough - 5 Pook - Looked a yard off the pace, maybe he needs a rest - 5 Bouazza - Awesome, got the ball at his feet and wasnt scared to run at players. Work very hard, did everything Christian Roberts should be doing. When does he go back - 8 Fallon - Was a complete twat today, not the first time he's done it either. Rubbish & Dustbins away on Boxing day anyway. Iffy was going to bring on Thorpe after Rory got his talking to, just didnt do it quick enough. First time this season he has let us down - 2 ----- Charlie Coymn-Platt - Looked very solid I though, much perfer to Paddy Collins and he offers something different to Ifil. Wasnt afraid to get stuck in and distribution wasnt too shoddy - 7 Title: ratings v scunthopre Post by: santini on Sunday, October 23, 2005, 14:09:11 Quote from: "Yeovil Red" Phil King said he was probably our best player first half? They had him down as a centre back and couldn't understand why he was on the left. That really confused them. They were so petulant and biased - it was like listening to a bunch of schoolkids having a go at anyone in our side who did anything against their 'brilliant' team. They definately didn't rate him at all. Title: ratings v scunthopre Post by: le god cuervo on Sunday, October 23, 2005, 18:13:43 comyn-platt was ace when he come on. seemed to be in the right position all the time & made some good clearances. i hope he stays in the team over ifil. he definatly looks less likely to make stupid mistakes.
shame about rory's sending off, it was a blatent elbow & probably wouldv'e been a straight red anyway. shouldn't have been booked for the dive, that should've been a pen. i thought whalley was playing ok until he went off, seems to be getting more involved now & making more tackles. he's improved since the start of the season IMO. i thought ricky shakes played well too when he came on. didnt expect him to be any good in the centre but he put himself about a bit. hope he starts in place of fallon at huddersfield. Title: ratings v scunthopre Post by: walrus on Sunday, October 23, 2005, 22:45:28 Gurney 10 - Zidanesque passes, genius wind-up tactics, commited, ran like a fucking dog and was geniunely amazing. I was very impressed, though did get caught of position sometimes. Sign him up! :beers:
