I didn't pay that much attention at Sunday School (and it was quite a long time ago) but I seem to remember that the general idea was that prayers needed to be a bit more reverential and a little less threatening if you actually wanted them answered (as opposed to, say, being turned into a pillar of salt). Although can't help feeling mex's new-style "gangsta prayers" could do wonders to turn round church attendances, which are even worse than ours.
