Title: Saturday fun
Post by: RobertT on Thursday, October 20, 2005, 10:35:57
Well, there were some problems with finding a spot for the Human Table Football, however, I may be able to drag a last minute rabbit out of the hat.

The company does a Radar Speed Football, which clocks how hard/fast you can strike a football.

We might be able to run a competition, set up from about 12pm outside the ground. Pay £1 ish, maybe £2 for a set of 3 go's lets say. We record the top speed and the top 2 names go into a final. The final would be to play for a personalised signed shirt by the players and would potentially involve a penalty shoot out on the pitch with Matty Bullman in goal (the club are trying to sort this now).

Does it sound worthwhile?

Sounds much better to me than the original idea.

That day he was on record breakers I just got home from school and turned the tv on to see him hammering a football, seeing him there made my day - I had no idea he was going to be on either.

That's cool, I always wondered how fast I could kick a ball.

I can see me collapsing in agony with a torn thigh muscle mind.

Done it at work a few times, I got a feeble 52mph but I was wearing crappy lose trainers.

Might wear my astro turf trainers Saturday then, just so I can strike it better.... :D

Right then, whats in store:

Red - keep coming in red, I think the Port Vale game was a fantastic display of Town Colours. Doesn't have to include face painting, but nothing to stop you - even a little STFC painted on.

Ticker Tape - bring as much as you can, more than you can handle, even newspapers. Meet in the Winners Bar if you like to rip some more up.

Banners, Scarfs & Flags - bring them, make them, wave them above your head.

Beach Balls - a bit of fun, nothing more, nothing less. Brings a bit of colour and gives some people something fun to do before the game.

Pre match footy related games outside the ground. Test your shooting speed, test your shooting accuracy. Possible chance to have a penalty shoot out at half time on the pitch in front of the Town End! Certainly a chance for signed shirts and the like.

Music - vote on the Swindon website for the entrance music. Great Escape?, surely the others are better, vote for them!

Above all, have some fun, and make some noise.

For those that don't want to get involved with all the extras above, carry on making the noise we know you can and lead the others by example. Show them what making a noise at the County Ground is all about, because you are the experts.
