Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: fatbury on Friday, October 7, 2005, 14:25:55 THink it will be
Heaton Jenkins O'Hanlon Ifil Smith Shakes Pook Whalley Nicholau Fallon Bouazza Subs Bulman Roberts Thorpe McDermott Nicholas Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: Bedford Red on Friday, October 7, 2005, 14:36:57 I'll be glad if Jenkins is back, he's in the squad so I guess he should be.
Whalley is fit as well so again I guess he will be in the team. I think that is pretty much how it will line up tomorrow. Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: DMR on Friday, October 7, 2005, 15:20:31 My team:
Heaton Jenkins, Sean, Ifil, Smith Shakes, Pook, Whalley, Roberts Fallon, Thorpe Iffy wouldn't go near that with a bargepole though Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: adje on Friday, October 7, 2005, 15:21:37 Jenks must play-AND wear the armband.Id go same as fat,' cept Nicnolas for Nicolau
Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: mattboyslim on Friday, October 7, 2005, 15:28:44 I agree 100% on Jenks for the Skipper, experienced and seemingly a good honest pro (gurney take note), let Sean O worry about defending. I agree with fatbuty's team too. But I'd be tempted to have a look at Jenks or Smith, maybe even O'hanlon as the midfield anchor using nicholas to cover full back. Pook and Whalley don't tackle enough.
No on seems to be backing McDermott, how'd he play at Donny and MK? he looked Ok against Bradfor IMO, or maybe that should be just as ineffective as the others. Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: adje on Friday, October 7, 2005, 15:35:25 He was piss-poor at Donny but to be honest so was Pook
Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: reeves4england on Friday, October 7, 2005, 15:38:45 Heaton
Jenks Sean Ifil Smith Shakes Whalley Pook Nicolau Fallon Bouazza I see where people are coming from wit the strength in midfield argument but still think this would be our best bet Bench: Bulman Roberts Nicholas Thorpe Heath (if available...what has happened with him?) Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: DMR on Friday, October 7, 2005, 15:42:30 Pook and McDermott were farking shight at Mk
Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: santini on Friday, October 7, 2005, 16:18:38 ...............Heaton................
Jenks Ifil O'Hanlon Smith Shakes Pook Whalley Heath ..........Fallon Bouazza.......... Bench: Bulman Nicholas Collins/Comyn-Platt two from Roberts Cureton Thorpe Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: bigbobjoylove on Friday, October 7, 2005, 16:23:19 Heaton
Jenks Ifil O'Hanlon Smith Shakes Pook Whalley Bouazza Fallon Thorpe Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: walrus on Friday, October 7, 2005, 16:58:15 Cureton Thorpe Roberts and Fallon have to feature, so Bouzza probably will never play in a Swindon shirt. FACT!
I don't think he'll start. I'd go with (with the little I know of short-ass) GK Heaton DR Jenko DL Smithy DC Seano DC Ifil MR Shakes ML Nicholau MC Pook MC Wally FC Roberts (don't cum Dan :P ) FC Fallon Subs: Bully-boy C*llins McDermott (who?) Cureton Thorpedo Spectators: Bouzza Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: sonicyouth on Friday, October 7, 2005, 17:31:24 Don't think Bouazza will start personally.
I'd go for...and this will be controversial... Code:
Jenkins would provide us with some much needed experience in midfield and I can't warrant dropping Nicho or Smith. Bouazza should give us another option up front as well. That said, I reckon Iffy will go for Code:

Heaton Jenkins O'Hanlon Ifil Smith Shakes Pook Whalley Nicholas Roberts Fallon Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: walrus on Saturday, October 8, 2005, 01:03:52 Nicholas left midfield? I never knew Port Vales right moidfield was that prolific/ Whgy o why woukd you pick that???????

I never knew Port Vales right moidfield was that prolific/ Whgy o why woukd you pick that??????? Because Nicholas is quite good going forward, he can cross the ball well as seen at Bradford and his long throw is an assest, with the number of crosses this season being low a long throw is the next best thing. Bloody hell that was the worst typing ever I look like a 'tard now...! I kind of see your point, but I don't think he's tricky enough to be a winger, and I've had enough of players being plonked out of position. At a time like now, we don't need to be experimenting - we need known quantities, performing, getting points I would usually expect to win. At a time like now, we don't need to be experimenting - we need known quantities, performing, getting points I would usually expect to win. Nicholas has played left back and left wing back, and part of left wing backs job is to get forward as in a 3-5-2 there are no wingers. So I dont think it that far from his position. He has pace to turn so can hopefully get round their full back a few times. He hasnt seemed that tricky in the past, because when going forward he has always had to be a defender as well. Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: walrus on Saturday, October 8, 2005, 09:03:14 I reckon you meant to type Nicholau and are now defending the typo :D
It might work, but I can't see Iffy ever trying it. He doesn't have the tactical nouse of King :| Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: DV on Saturday, October 8, 2005, 09:04:50 Quote from: "Walrus" I reckon you meant to type Nicholau and are now defending the typo :D It might work, but I can't see Iffy ever trying it. Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: reeves4england on Saturday, October 8, 2005, 09:08:28 It will be an interesting choice. I've not heard much good news about Nicolau to be honest so perhaps Nicho would be a good idea
Title: Team v Port Vale Post by: adje on Saturday, October 8, 2005, 10:59:31 That was my idea DV8-and you get the glory!
